I only saw the first episode. I thought it was OK. As far as Kevin Smith goes, I know very little about him. I've never watched any of his movies, not one and I do not care to either.
There were a few funny moments that made me laugh, like when the guy breaks those Star Trek plates. I like the fact their humor is kind of crude.
Some of the people who came in were annoying. Like the girl with the Chucky doll and that jerk with the Dawn of the Dead stuff.
My problem, it just follows the same format. People come in, set up staged deal, the end. Just like Pawn Stars, Oddities...am I forgetting any?

Comic Book Men on AMC with Megos

I know! That totally bugs me that they put it in that slot.
The Talking Dead REALLY NEEDS to be right after the Walking Dead.
I tried, but I really don't like the Comic Book Men show. I always buzz off & do other things. I just can't force myself to watch it. I just don't like the dudes.
And when the Walking Dead is over, I crave watching people talk about it, so I can wind down. I usually have to catch it on On Demand, because I'm in bed by then. bleh.Leave a comment:

I find the show boring and seems to fake. Jay needs to come out more and bust out the radio and lip balm!Leave a comment:

I pretty much fast forward through everything but the people bringing in their loot.Leave a comment:

Wow. I really want to root for this show, but the third episode is really painful. I would just love to watch a half hour version where they just cut out all the cutesy stuff about shooting that awful commercial, and just show us the cool nerd stuff.
Nice to see the old Fireside Marvel books, mind-blowing to see the obvious set-up sequence where a guy comes in with some of the most valuable comics ever, pretending he does not know what he has (and even keeps them in plastic binder presentation sheets). With an SDCC exclusive Transformer from the past decade, and a bunch of CGC Secret Wars though, you'd think they would try and mix it up a bit more. How about some more movie props or memorabilia for variety within a given show? Why not more vintage action figures... particularly after brushing aside the CS Spidey in the first episode?
I couldn't imagine having to sit through this between Walking Dead and Talking Dead.Last edited by samurainoir; Mar 1, '12, 12:39 AM.Leave a comment:

it is rather dull. they should drop to 1/2 hour. I thought Mewes looked stoned. I know he has had a lot of issues with drugs. they probably gave him a spot on the show to get him some cashLeave a comment:

I don't follow Jay and SB, but I know Mewes has had a lot of issues.. to me he didn't even sound like he does in the movies. And I don't mean the snoochy-boochy talk, I mean the actual sound of his voice. The guy's been thru the ringer.
Earlier someone made the comment that Ming seemed to be the only smart one.. can't say I agree. To me he comes off dopey, and they certainly treat him that way. He's definitely the most awkward of the bunch on camera.Leave a comment:

There really isn't an hour's worth of content there. If they did cut out all the cutesy stuff and stuck to the nerd gear, I think I would stick with it, but I don't think you keep a AMC sized Walking Dead lead in that way. Although given the low cast to produce something like this, maybe it is worth it for AMC not to have to pay million dollar budgets for originally programming of this nature.
This might survive better on a smaller specialty network. What have the ratings been like?Leave a comment:

Being a fanboy of the Kevin Smith universe I'll keep watching them on the DVR but honestly it's only because I am a dork like that. The gratuitous "Clerks" send up stuff is so sad it's IMO a real detriment to the legacy of the original (sorta like Clerks II). Oh well it was a fun thought.Leave a comment:

Yeah, the hockey game and batmobile part were kinda dumb. I don't know how much more of this I'm gonna watch.

The second show was it for me. Thought it might get better, but there is no point to it.Leave a comment:

I deleted it from my DVR before even watching it. Just couldn't even try.Leave a comment:

I laughed my *** off when the guy who came in with his "Crisis" collection and asked for a hundred bucks, I sat there and said keep dreaming buddy, That's not happening.
The whole Batmobile thing was so staged......and honestly as nice as that car was, a REPRO car just didn't have enough geek for me.....I'd geek to be in a original series used car......Leave a comment:
