that was obvious as soon as they were there filming.....you think they are going to buy valuable stuff like that at a tag sale and put it on TV where the seller might see it and then try and sue them? everything about the show is staged. i find myself fast forwarding through most everything now except what staged items people bring in to selll...just cool to look at the stuff. i doubt I will continue much longer with it -
Ha Ha Ha. Same here, I watch it after The Walking Dead. I think it's entertaining.

LOL! You are on a roll, Jim! Seriously, everything you have been typing is 100% on target.
See, they need to bring in the hot woman. Instantly make the show better.Leave a comment:

I wonder if this show is going to be picked up by AMC. With The Walking Dead finishing its season next week, I really don't see this fitting with their other shows such as "Mad Men" when it returns later this month...Leave a comment:

I think in this regard it's like Rush Limbaugh's secret to success. His show didn't grow because of his loyal followers as it did due to his haters. Sadly for this show these guys don't have enough appeal, charisma or apparent talent to keep it up. I can see the final episode lasting a full 44 minutes with nothing but a stationary camera on a tripod filming these guys sleeping at the counter. It'd be about the same as what' s happening all ready.Leave a comment:

Everyone keeps giving me grief for watching it and then complaining about how horrible it is. But it's like some sick trainwreck that I can't stop from watching. Those guys are the worst.Leave a comment:

I DVR it and skim through it. I forgot last weeks' but it was available on my cable system's on demand.
I like to see the collectables and fast forward the other stuff.Leave a comment:

Have you noticed a pattern here?
Most of us are still watching this show...lol.
I swear...I hate 'em, starting with Kevin Smith (I agree, he's a poser)...but for some sick reason...I'm still watching...

So true. I will always be thankful to Smith as the guy who lobbied for, and then respectfully brought back, Ollie as Green Arrow, but this show is horrible. I've tried to watch it multiple times, but it never gets any better. Just self-absorbed goobers aping it up for the cameras. Garbage.
I think they need a hot, nerdy woman on this show. Like Kari Byron on "Mythbusters." Get rid of the man-boobs Santa Claus wanna-be and bring in a hot redhead in a tight Spiderman t-shirt. Instant ratings success!

Never trust anything you see on TV. Rule of thumb when watching 'reality' tv: be mindful of the angles. In all of myt years of covering news events and such I have yet to have the camera in 'just the right spot' to capture every spontanious human emotion / reaction that happens. It's not possible. Unless of course there is a "Take 2".
Plus considerng 1.) ebay and 2.) the saturation of Antique Roadshow, Auction Hunter, Pawn Stars" type shows I find it hard to believe for even a second that anyone with old toys or comics would simply say "$.25 and you got a deal! I just want to get rid of this junk!" 15 years ago? Sure. 10 years ago? Maybe. 5 years ago? Slightly possible. Now? No friggin way.
Ad to all of this, Kevin Smith had the mythos of being 'one of us' who happened to make it. Problem is with his on going lack of expertise about anything comic book or toy related the fourth wall is indeed broken and the fanbase is fracturing... not a good idea Mr. Smith, you're proving yourself to be the worst kind of geek of all; a poser.Leave a comment:

These guys were more entertaining when Kevin Smith was telling stories about them years ago. Shoulda left it alone.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I admit I rolled my eyes at the time but apparently evidence is now popping up that the Frankenstein item was loaned to them by the guy who "bought" it at the end.
you can't get away with anything anymore....

Finally saw the episode with the SMDM and the Megos. Here is that portion of the show...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE1UO...eature=related
Outside of a bunch of guys sitting around reminiscing (and I say that loosely), they don't really offer anything that I would merit as true expertise. Of the three items Zorro brought in, these fellas sat aside the two most valuable of the three. And that's not paying no disrespect to the SMDM. That is a very cool piece. But it's far more common than the other two. I laughed out loud when Kevin Smith's "insightful" question about the worth of the SMDM item was based on whether you could see through the figure's bionic eye in the box.
Like the only thing that mattered was looking through the hole in the back on his head! I guess it matches the one Smith has. And I don't know if anyone picked up on it. But they don't act like people who share any real love of these things. They seem to make a mockery of it. I went to the Cincy Meet and we spent HOURS talking intelligently about the craft. And had time allowed, we could have continued. The fellas on this show were not engaged on really any level. They were just creating dialogue to fill time on the show. Very contrived and boring.
