Some very sad news from Museum member Toro (Derek Moore)

I just sent Derek a Paypal donation. I don't know him very well, but, having lost my first wife on July 4th, 1999, to cancer, I sure do feel for him. I can't imagine going through that with kids, having to comfort and care for them while also dealing with your own pain, especially at this time of the year.

hi,Paul,i sent a email to one of your address let me know if you got it ok.i read the boards tonight and all i could do was cry,you guys are amazing people.it said it would take 3 or so buisness days to complete my paypal.which is ok it is up and running.on the mego's i sold i am ok with that,the only ones i really missed were my fonzie,and my dukes of hazzard and of course i always got laughed at because i loved the african american mego's i miss those.if anyboyd would like to send some mego or mego like stuff my kids loved my rm batman it was a doc mego.and a doc mego robin.they really liked the old classic tv mego's like the space 2009 or anything like that.i tried to keep my mego's away from my kids but after some time i liked watching them play with them so i gave in.lol i do want to thank each and every member who have sent well wishes ,prayers donations and etc.people like this make this world worth living in at a time i would rather be with my wife.i will give you my address it has changed since last time i ordered anything its

it really did blow my mindwhen you called today i never expected it at all.i am still in awe of all of this.today was hard since its the first birthday after my wife's passing i was choked up most of the day.its hard and iwill get through it i have to for my boys.and if i didnt believe there was a God and my wife is in heaven with him ,i dont think i could get through these times.i know she is safe and not suffering anymore.i cant express in workd how grateful i am right now to have friends like you guys ,even after i have been gone so long it is like i was just at the muesuem yesterday.thank you guys and thank you Paul for everything.

I think his appreciation for all of this speaks for itself. I'll be taking care of a good number of the CTVT figures, but it looks like the Mego related wish list looks like this...

And if he had Batman and Robin, I am guessing he'd also appreciate most Bat family figures and other WGSH. Perfect condition was never a high priority, since these are figures that will be played with.


In another somewhat more personal email to me, he mentioned how hard it has been now that the attention from friends and family has subsided. I can only imagine that emails and cards would be most appreciated.

I just read through all of this. What an amazing group of people on this site. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my wife. All of this is just crazy and sad and horrible. I didn't know Derek, but I'd like to help. I've got some gift cards I'd like to send there way. Hulk, let me know if that seems like a good idea.
