I am truly, truly saddened by this news. The loss of a partner is so very devastating. And to also have to be a rock for your children is daunting to say the least.

Derek, I wish you and your family strength and courage.

Paul, I would be humbled to be allowed to help, however I can. If its money that's is being collected, I have absolute trust in you handling it.

DEREK IS MY FRIEND. i chatted with him many times in chat and i sent him a few small items when he first joined. a great guy who i miss. my condolences. if the kids need some toys get me the address and ill go buy some and overnight them at my expense. i would like to help him . paul please let me know the address. mike

I know quite a few people who go to church and I'm going to have him put on a prayer list, I would like to help out any way I can also, so someone please let me know what I can do, I'll be waiting! Adam, my nephew who I speak of alot lives with Hodgkins Lymphoma and has been since Oct 2003, and just today (as of Dec 21st) my sister's neighboor and best friend just died of that dreaded disease as well. So anything my clan can do to ease this suffering just let me know!

I've just read this and feel very moved as well.I wish them all the best in this difficult time of their lives.
My wife just spent the last week in the hospital and I was taking care of the three kids and visiting her,It was very hard.I do not know how I would be able to handle that situation everyday like Derek now has to.I can't donate much but I would like to help if you have the P/P addy.Derek is one of the nicest people I met here.

I just read this and am stunned. I remember Derek, and upon reading this I recalled his wife's failing health. My heart especially goes out to the 3 year old, and Derek who will have to try and comfort him in a situation that is almost impossible.
