It can only be a good thing in NYC. The amount of ninny panic hoarding/shopping will help local grocery stores like crazy. This is the kind of stimulus package we need! U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

Seriously, it’s centered in Virginia. Nowhere near here. And no damage. It’s just crazy because New York just doesn’t feel stuff like this. Like I am calm, but still there is this odd primal rewiring of my brain trying to digest that an earthquake was felt in NYC. Nothing a few beers won’t solve!

Looks like it was felt from Va to Martha's Vineyard. Strang I'm not getting reportsw from south of VA yet.

No serious damage reported (so far) anywhere, including the epicenter in Mineral, VA.

We've been on the air for a while.

Actually, the first thing I thought was a terrorist attack had just occurred. I am 50 miles outside of Washington D.C. so it's almost a conditioned response since we rarely feel any earthquakes around here. Now that I know what happened; I'm ok with after shocks.

We felt some vibrations from it, but I thought it was a truck or something. My husband's office evacuated, because they're higher up and the shaking was significantly worse there.

Yeah I'm in new york city. I felt the shake at my office at work. It felt like a huge vibration under my feet. I thought they were just working on the floor underneath me.

Instead of shaking, this was more like swaying --- like the world was on a hammock or waterbed

    Really weird feeling
Sounds like a surface wave quake. That rolling feeling.
Just be ready for aftershocks. I don't mean to scare you but they will happen, usually smaller so not a big deal. Just stay calm cool and collected. Away from glass and falling objects. Might be a good idea to hang out in an open field or area.
    Stay safe!

We had to evacuate the building I work in for 10 minutes. First one for me and also didn't feel like shaking...more of a vibration type feeling that goes through your entire body.
