Wow. Totally felt that one. Very minor though.
These small earthquakes make me feel nauseated.Leave a comment:

Hey, I have gone through many earthquakes during my lifetime...and believe me...I was not remotely making fun of you guys...earthquakes scare me...I don't like them one bit...I don't care how small they are...your 5.9 was more than big enough for me as well...

I heard on the news that a lot of West Coasters are poking fun at our East Coast Earthquake. It wasn't any huge disaster but just something those of us who have grown up around here most of our lives have never experienced. I have seen some pretty scary Hurricanes (one that slammed right into Maryland years ago) and based on the current projections of Irene, we will get some serious rain and wind even though we are far in-land. I have also seen my share of tornadoes. Maybe nothing like they have in Kansas but have seen huge funnel clouds and have seen massive destruction from ones that have touched down miles from my house....but earthquake, this was a first for me and although no damage done, just a surreal experience.Leave a comment:

Each hour not having a MASSIVE earthquake brings you closer to the big one. Chew on that.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I was up, brushing my teeth, getting ready for bed. That was weird, it was like a bounce, and then half a second later a shake. The only thing that fell over was my Julie doll. Everything else in the toyroom and my house was still standing or hanging.Leave a comment:

What I can say is, get ready for more! This is just the beginning of what we are about to see. It's only going to get worse. I've been telling people for a while and everybody thinks I'm crazy, but I'm not. We are going to have more severe quakes coming up very soon. I don't know where but they are coming. And I think we're going to have some volcanic eruptions soon. I suggest everybody gets a emergency kit put together and store up on water and food. When the crap hits the fan, it'll be good to be ready and not caught unprepared.
(please, no end of days/2012 comments! I'm not saying the world is ending. I don't know why everybody accuses me of saying the world is going to end. I'm not Harold Camping, I just know a little of what's coming in the near future.)

Wow, that's some list, who would've thought AK would be that prone to quakes.
I was visiting my dad in the nursing home and we felt just this slightest vibration and were wondering if it was a quake and then the banner showed up on the t v screen and we knew it was one.Leave a comment:

There are thousands of quakes around the world every year...but most are small (like you said)...and most don't occur in highly populated areas such as cities. Here’s a list of 3.0+ earthquakes that have happened in the U.S. in the past 7 days.

I bet the vast majority of those quakes listed were in far away rural and incorporated areas....in mountain regions, forests, etc...
Just be glad that a massive major killer quake will not happen in the East Coast anytime soon.
Wish I could say the same for the West Coast...
