I felt it all the way up here in Maine! The house was swaying, I thought I was getting dizzy.

I work in a 4 story building. My office is on the 2nd floor. My bosses office is on the 3rd floor. My brother lives in the "penthouse" on the 4th floor. My boss buzzes down to me and asks if my brother is home because it sounds like someone is running and jumping on the 4th floor. I go up to check and no one is home. I took my cell phone and, as I am looking, my wife calls me and tells me our daughter just called and said the house was shaking for 15 seconds. So, that was my first clue it was an earthquake. We have never had one here that I know of. My son calls me and asks if my brother's huge wooden clock is still hanging because he and my brother hung it yesterday. It wasn't secured properly and my son told him they better do it in case we get an earthquake. He was totally joking as we have never had one. Next day we get one. Bizarre.

I felt it here in central Vermont. I was leaning on a counter and all of a sudden something didn't feel right and I looked at the ceiling and all the hanging light fixtures were swinging.

Reports from Richmond say chimneys have collapsed, some damage to a post office but no initial reports of injuries.
