Ok, this is way off topic but thought i'd mention it ...

I think Linda was very pretty ... But, sometimes she looked like a guy in drag.

Did anyone else ever think this ?

What I thought was funny was when my friends and I watched the airing of McCartney Unplugged on eMpTyV and one of my friends blurted out, "She's playing the mailbox and trashcans!"
I know this is beside the point but still, Linda doesn't seem to get a break.

I've always liked her and she is cute.

she actually was very attractive....oddly, in a very Brittish way, even though she was American. She just dressed frumpy. if you look at some of the promo shots for albums like give My Regards to Broadstreet, she was damn hot. I always remember the shot of her on the unicorn, which i believe was in the movie sequence of Eleanors dream

Most of the songs in this thread are not technically Mcartney solo stuff but rather Wings songs.
Maybe I'm amazed is my pick.

                  I brought it up

Go back and look at my list of songs...all SOLO McCartney.

Ask a lot of people and they'll say "Maybe I'm Amazed"...then ask them which version and see what kind of answer you'll get ...most will say the live version, which was the "Hit" version. I love the original version on "McCartney"...BTW, no one has mentioned how much of great "Musician" he is. Listen to "McCartney" and "Band On The Run"...That's Macca on Drums...and a whole lot of other instruments.

List of favorite Solo LP's In order from favorite to least:

                  1) Ram
                  2) McCartney
                  3) Tug Of War
                  4) Flaming Pie
                  5) Chaos and Creation
                  6) Pipes Of Peace
                  7) Flowers In The Dirt
                  8) Press To Play
                  8) McCartney 2
                  9) Give My Regards to Broadstreet
                  10) Off Of The Ground
                  11) Driving Rain
                  12) Memory Almost Full

Hell, if I could put the bootleg "Cold Cuts" on the list I would...probably put it in about half way down on the list...and the songs on that LP were throw aways by Macca.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                  The beauty that surrounds them
                  Isn't it a pity".

                  - "Isn't It A Pity"
                  By George Harrison

Speaking for me personally, I consider Wings solo for Paul.

It's not like anyone else in the band had any REAL sayso except for McCartney anyway.

I've always thought of Paul McCartney & Wings as solo, too. The same way (please forgive me) Billy Joel or Springsteen has a whole band behind them. I am not comparing them except for the solo artist thing. Let me make that clear

"Silly Love Songs" is the one that make me think the most of being a kid with one of my parents having the radio on while we were traveling in the car, so I'll go with that one.
                              It's all good!

She was a great photographer, a fav with stars so she got a lot of GREAT photos of Jimi, Janis, all the rest.. But she never photographed well herself.

She just didn't give a flip on style, wearing different colored socks.. She just said pretty much 'FU' to the world and critics.. Very ballsy, especially since she knew all the attention she would get.

Speaking of ballsy.., just who else in the mid70s would take his wife on the road with him..??

Macca was going to do it 'his way', and that's it.. Screw the critics. He got a lot of that from Linda.
