Three tables for $90, so maybe a bigger break for more tables. And there is still a few months to get stuff together to sell or to save funds to visit. I think I'll get a table anyway. I have lots of stuff to get rid of. I can talk to her on Tuesday if anybody else is seriously interested.
    No interest?

After FINALLY realizing my dream to attend a Mego Meet, I got depressed that I missed the last 5. If I had a Hot Tub Time Machine, I would SOOO go back and attend all of those every other weekend until the time paradoxes totally implode the multiverse.

well for Dave MC MM is a Monumental task ,its not easy,
so if your planning a meet on the oppsite side of the USA , or over seas
, sit down now and plan it.
1)where willit be held?some place with plenty of room and cheap rental rates
        2) good place with plenty of cheap hotels?whose willing to give convention discounts
        3) ease of Access, by a main Highway &/or rail?
        I support your efforts.

This link has pretty much the hotel discount and space and a toy event already planned. I was suggesting some of us get in on the already established event and have a little section with the Mego theme. It's at the Airport Holiday Inn and so it's convenient from the airport. It's real close to I-5. And not that far from downtown.

Mego Meet admission is $12 for your whole family. Period. Not $4 per person. A table is $20. $15 dollars less. A table and admission for me (and my son) was $32. LESS than your table and admission. You loose. 3 tables for $90? A lot more expensive than Mego Meets $44 for 3 tables.

                      ^ So wouldn't 3 tables be $44, not $32?

Like it was stated before we go through this every single year. People whine about not going or wanting it in their back yard. It gets old. Mego Meet West or Mego Meet Canada or Mego Meet Vegas or Mego Meet Whatever will NEVER EVER happen. And do you know why? Because the people who say "They need to have MM in my home town" don't realize They is all of us here.

Mego Meet happens every year becuase people who love these toys make it happen. They coordiante the Toy Museum and the Super 8. And it's not all about the dealers rooms, which is killer by the way. Mego Meet is the people invloved and who come. People who fly and drive to be with people of like minds that "get it".

Wheeling is a sweet little town. We rag on it because is gives the Meet its charm. Hoss's, Undos, the Wendy's and McDonald's employees. It all adds to the experience. It's held there because it's cheap. We don't pay for the Toy Museum. Rooms at the Super 8 are about $65. Admission is $12 for your whole family. You won't find any show cheaper.

But we go to spend time together as a group. We put names with faces and personalities. We laugh so hard we cry sometimes. When I went to my first one I was scared to death going into the suite the first time. But you all welcomed me with open arms, slapped a soda in my hand and asked how I was. How cool is that. Trust me when I say it makes being on the museum that much better.

The point is you already know the dates for next year. If you REALLY want to come you can plan. It's no different than planning a family vacation. Hell, I'm still unemployed and managed to make it. This year I drove over 30 hours total and over 1650 miles total. So don't whine at me that you can't drive 6 hours or fly from FL like NewForce did.

The point is Mego Meet happens because people make it happen. If you want to have Mego Meet West then grab the bull and make it happen. You make the calls and line everything up. Then tell us the dates and we'll see how many show up. If not, plan to be in Wheeling in 2011. We would love to see everyone. I already know I'll be there next year.

If the Meet was anchored in Idaho then everybody on the East coast would be complaining it was too far for them every year and wanting an East coast meet.
I'm not going to pick it apart but I felt a bit dismissed by your post above. It felt like, "like it or leave it".
I applaud those of us that aren't gushing with cash at least attempting to create something more affordable "over here".
Maybe we'll see YOU here someday?

Not a very positive attitude...pretty negative actually. It's really a lot cheaper for you than a lot of us. Last year I spent over $1,000 to go to the meet. Not including the stuff I bought there.
