Well. I'm also depressed if that helps. Though not for the same reason you are
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Like I said, as long as I get commitment. I need a head count on this as well as work on a budget and able to make it happen.

I think Ed you start a new thread about a head count for a proposed megomeet in this area .cause this thread was about being DEPRESSED about not going to WV megomeet from Cmonster .just a thought?

Count me in as long as it's next year. I can't do it this year.

Right-O, Mike. Right now since there is attention on this thread I thought I would put it out the table about what will be required.
I'll post a new thread shortly.

Perhaps a combination meet with a similar toyline would help defray the costs? For example a Mego/GIJoe meet or Mego/Barbie meet?
Also I think the first thing to do would be to start a list of all seriously interested so as to determine the best location. Obviously you don't want it so far that the majority of the people have to travel a great distance or that defeats the purpose but you also want to take into consideration things like cheap airfare, motels, etc. Someplace like las vegas always has cheap flights and isn't that far from most of us. Actually it's probably within realistic driving disatnce from most of the Western area.
Everyone wants to have it in their backyard but that's unrealistic unless you can figure out a way to move it around year-to-year and keep the costs and attendance the same.
Now would we also get any of the big guns attending since they all seem to be concentrated out East? (Like DM, Castaway, etc)
I can see Mikey's point about it being a great idea but never gets past the idea phase. It's gotta be a lot of work.

I haven't been able to go so I just have to live vicariously through the people that did with all the great photos that are always posted.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

looks like I would be about a third more depressed about Portland as a location.

Yeah, I had to miss it this year. It's the one little road trip we make as a family every year. I'll be there next year come hell or high water.

I'm a bit travel adverse and money is always an issue. Still, I'd love to meet some of the folks I talk to on this forum so the desire is always there.

I'm glad to be there "in spirit" helping out with the Megomeet exclusive box.

How about getting in on some other event and getting a block of tables to be for the Mego people? Here's an event that has some space available. It kind of ties in with the other vintage stuff...

I can talk to the owner of Shelby's and see if it is a possibility if anybody is really interested. She has an event at least twice a year I think.

This toy show is already established. The admission is only $4 and tables are $35. If you get a table you don't pay the admission price. So to get in it's cheaper than Megomeet and for a table it is only three dollars more. I think two people get in with the table price. So it seems like a good deal to me. Three tables for $90, so maybe a bigger break for more tables. And there is still a few months to get stuff together to sell or to save funds to visit. I think I'll get a table anyway. I have lots of stuff to get rid of. I can talk to her on Tuesday if anybody else is seriously interested.
