The teachers exercised incredibly bad judgment. They got carried away and should have known better. There's a line you need to keep that separates you from the kids and they crossed well past it. They should at least be disciplined.

Teachers should be held to a higher code of conduct. These two really exercised bad judgement here, and should be removed from their positions.

I agree ... anything to do with sex, teachers and children there is no second chances.

I'd say they just got lost in the moment of having fun and it was an error in judgement. Suspension is suitable enough to say "You f'ed up". Firing is way too harsh.

My question to people that say they should not be fired .... How far would they have to have gone until you would say they should be fired ?

In Canada, it is very hard to relieve a teacher of duty unless they have broken the Law. At that point they would lose their Teaching License and then be unable to complete the terms of employment and their Contract becomes null and void. For situations where the Law has not been broken there has to be repeated offenses related to dereliction of duty.

For a situation like this, they will get a suspension and written notice that their actions didn't conform with District Policy. If they do it again, then they would risk being relieved of duty. Of course that's only if they have Permanent Contracts with their School District. If they have Temporary Contracts, then they are as good as fired. They'll never work again as teachers. No School District will touch them.

              Blame the Lawyers...

Hard to say. Maybe if the mock act was all the way through. I undertsand where people think they should be fired. I just look at at like we are all human and make mistakes. I just don't think a minute of bad judgement and 10 seonds of really bad judgement should cost someone there livelihood. If thsse are good people and good teachers the suspension will send the message in my opinion.

The word is that this was planned by the two teachers as part of a teacher dance competition. I would say that they should be fired just for being so stupid. Professionally, this is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 of the 6 chambers loaded. How could they not have known that some parents would be offended? Stupid, stupid, stupid...
