What did they take away from ROCKY 5 besides the bad taste left in the
majority of the public's mouths as an ending for the series?

(I personally thought 5 was okay)

Like I said,.. if 1 is not a fan of this kinda Subject Material,.. I could see why No One Would Care ..., But having lived the Life Stlye at 1 period in Time,.. It's probably the Funniest Movie for that Kind of Humor Ever.

Dean Cook in My Best Friends Girl Friend ,.. Waiting, as well as the Pinapple Express are somewhat Entertaining as well.

I a bit confused on why you brought up 5 then (if it stops at 4)....but okay.

                    Ohhhhhhh..I truly get it now...

ROCKY BALBOA (the movie) didn't "take away" anything from ROCKY 5---
you meant that ROCKY 5 took away everything from the CHARACTER Rocky.

                    Understood.

I'll give you it was stereo-typical, but stereotypes (in this case) are certainly based on a reality. As humans, we short-cut our thinking by building stereotypes.Sometimes, they can be offensive or at the least, way overblown. Being from this part of the US, having WW2 aged great uncles who were almost THAT bad-arse, with that same hatred for "Natzis".....it ain't that much of a stretch. If you would have cut any one of them loose..........they might could'a done it.

Pitt, being from this neck of the woods, knew that and drew from it for the character.

I'll say this....part of why I liked his character was that he seemed soooo familiar.

Well Sure ..., but I have met the character's "Mentality" before,.. and He does come off somewhat Familiar .

It's not a Stretch at all , nore was I Trying to imply anything negative in reguards to his character's protrail...., I think we all have ,.. or in my case had,.. that GrandFather and Great Uncles Who lived and fought, then we got to hear the stories .

Naw, I liked your post. I just wanted you to know, if you thought that portrayal might have offended any of us because it was of a certain stereotype, I have to say at least Aldo was willing to work with Jews and that is something we don't get a lot of credit for in this neck of the woods. Even though most of the world does not realize that many of us here are of us Jewish decent...including me. The History of this part of the country includes a population made up of people who were ethnically German, racially Jewish, who escaped Germany to Russia, and from Russia to the US around the turn of the century. Mix that in with some Native American (and Aldo was part) and Scots-Irish and you have some supreme bad-arses with a major chip on their shoulder.

Um....I might add that overblown sterotypes are part of what makes
watching QT's best flicks a thoroughly entertaining experience.

Big Coen Bros. fan and I don't watch Lebowski enough...still a great line.
I consider the Coen flicks more consistent than QT's too.
