Star Trek - Burger King glasses

Buy the sets and put extra sets on eBay. I have not seen the movie, I was originally opposed to it. I may go see it next weekend. But I did see the glasses about 2 weeks ago and they advertise the set and/or the glasses without a purchase being necessary I think.

I have 8 or 12 LOTR Goblets. Those Rule!

I don't want these glasses if they aren't useable. Anyone using them? Are they very fragile glass that will break easily or do you think they can be used and washed like regular glasses? I'm sure the frosting/art will wear out in time. That was another plus on the LOTR ones, they were etched/molded. Nothing to wash off. And the lighted base rocked.

I got 2 sets of glasses. 1 at $1.99 each. A buddy of mine got me the second set. His BK manager friend sold the set to him and me at $5.00 for all 4!

You got a whole set of glasses for $1.99? That was quite the deal! $5.00 for all 4 on the second set was a deal as well. I like deals like that.

The best deal I got so far was actually on the toys. I had purchased six of them. There was a new guy working the register and he rang them up at .50 each instead of the normal price. Being the honest person that I am I politely told him about it so that he could fix it and charge me the correct price. I kind of felt a little bad for him since he was new and all and still trying to catch on. The Manager standing close by had noticed that he was having problems (apparently not the first time) and came over to help bail him out and show him what he did wrong. The Manager told him that since the items were already rang up and my change was due to just give the toys to me for the price that he rang. I was like cool beans!

I just need Original Spock and Warbird for the toys

The ever elusive Original Spock. He seems to be halting a few member's collections from being completed that I know of.

There have been a lot of people that already have. Some have made a little profit from doing so.

Me either. I am waiting for the movie to show up on DVD so that I can watch it in the privacy of my own Theatre room.

Me to. I am not too big into anything Trek unless it is the original series. The original series is my favorite by far. Although I have heard good reviews about the new movie.

This is true. In most (not all) Burger King locations they are willing to sell the glasses out right without an additional food purchase. Some members here have reported that some of their local BK's tried to stick it to them by making the additional food purchase mandatory. My advice is try different locations in your local and surrounding area. One of them is bound to sell you the glasses without an additional food purchase.

The glasses are indeed useable if you so wish to use them.

I am not personally. I just bought mine to display. I am sure that there will be someone out there to use them though. You know how the kids can be. They just have to drink from a glass like these as no other glass will do for them.

I would not say that they are real super fragile. However, it really depends on how much one uses them and how rough one is on the stuff that they do use. I am generally pretty good about keeping things in great shape. I know some people that break things all the time.

Most positively. Especially under constant use and through multiple washings. This is why I will not personally use mine. To each their own though.

If you are even remotely thinking about it you should at least get one set of glasses just to say that you have them for your collection.
