Star Trek - Burger King glasses

Get this crap. As a glass collector I figured I'd pick up a set of these. Called my local BK and asked if they had a set and was told yes, the set sells for $6. So I went there and was told that they were $1.99 with the purchase of a value meal and if I wanted all four then I'd have to purchase 4 value meals but if I did that then I could have the set of $6. Needless to say I walked out.

Tim, That really sucks man. I guess from what I have been reading here so far that each Burger King is operating with their own set of rules. I am not trying to rub salt in an open wound here, but the one that I went to was super cool. I had no problems getting anything except for the cool displays. I still have to wait until the promotion is over to get them....drats!!! My suggestion to you and anyone wanting the set and cannot get the set without making a food purchase it to try a different location if you have that option available to you in your area. Better luck next time man.

I have a bit of bad news regarding the new bk trek glasses.
It seems here in NYC bk has become greedy and wants to milk us fellow trekers and collectors. they will not sell the glasses by themselves a value meal must be purchased and then one can buy the glass. (They claim,is through out the chain) sad when in past one could just walk in and buy a glass without having to buy one of their greasy fating unhealthy foods. What has been some of your expirences??

I'm also in NYC...the manager in my BK was cool...no food purchase nessasary...toys can be had for a dollar each....I got 2 $3 kids meals(for me and my son)bought all 4 glasses and he gave me all 4 toys out so far.

I did ask last week when the glasses would be out, they couldn't tell me because some one stole the poster.

LOL!!! Nothing surprises me about that. These are some really die hard Trekkie fans out there wanting this stuff really bad. Kind of like a coke addict that is addicted to coke. They need their fix and they need it now!
I talked to one of the girls there at BK today when I got my Trek goodies. She told me that she has already had "all kinds" come in to get these. She said some even went as far as to dress up and come in just to get the glasses and toys. ???? I reassured her that I did not get THAT deeply involved with collecting/watching Star Trek. At least not yet anyway. I did tell her to hand over the box of toys and give me a set of glasses to go along with them as I was carrying a phaser on me. NOT!!! LOL!!!

Something is telling me that both the glasses and the toys will eventually be plentiful and easily had at thrift stores/garage sales once all the hype is over.

My Lunch BK across from my office only had the Kirk Glass. Got it and 2 toys.
