I saw it yesterday. My curiosity got the better of me.
As a die hard FF fan, I can say that this isn't the Fantastic Four.
I didn't think Doctor Doom could be portrayed worse than he was in those two Tim Story films. Boy, was I wrong.
At least the Thing does look pretty powerful and imposing in this movie. Just wish they'd given him trunks.
I really hope Marvel Studios gets the cinematic rights to the FF back.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

Marvel/Disney will get the film rights back at some point. I also share the fear that this movie will cause the Fantastic Four to be seen as damaged goods. It will likely be sometime before anyone tries to make another movie. It's frustrating because their is so much potential in the Fantastic Four for a truly great film.Comment

I did not mind the first 2 Wolverine movies. okay, origins was not a great movie. but I liked the second one.
I also liked the prior 2 F4 movies. they were not perfect but they were fun and did hit a lot of the elements that make the characters so great.Comment

The first Hulk was really bad with the weird Nick Nolte father thing added to the story. When Disney gets the rights to these other charectors the X-men
should do really good, but the Fantastic Four is going to take years before they invest in a movie. Hulk vs Thing would be cool.Comment

Hey Clemso, it's a bit more complex than what you mention on the Hulk. Marvel would have to share portions of the profit on a solo Hulk movie with Universal, similar to what Marvel and Sony are doing with Spidey. If Marvel had sole rights to the Hulk property, it might go ahead and go with it, but with having to share a portion of the profits, it's just not as safe a venture. It's worth it with Spidey because his licensing generates more money than any other single comic book character and it's not even close.
But, it is applicable to the FF property if Marvel had to share profits with Fox on a joint venture. Would a new take on the FF be more lucrative with Marvel's full stamp on it? I don't know?
The FF movie is a flop on the order or possibly greater than the Green Lantern movie, although the GL movie cost a good bit more than the FF film. The GL movie halted WB's first attempt to build toward a JLA movie. A GL sequel and a Flash film were shut down with scripts finished and pre-production ready to start. The property is so toxic that a new GL film was pushed to the tail end of the WB's DC production schedule. If the BvS and JLA movie aren't huge blockbusters, I doubt another GL movie will be made.
FF may be similarly toxic to Fox and Marvel. But I hope not.Comment
