You forget one thing, a blast or two of kryptonite webbing and it's lights out for ol' Supes. Yes, even the man of steel has his weakness, or have people forgotten that over the years? Besides, Peter Parker died in ASM#700. Chances are that Otto 'The Superior Spider-Man' Octavious(SP?) would pull no punches in beating Superman down if need be.

Yeah, because Superman has NEVER overcome the effects of Kryptonite. As soon as he's exposed, it's game over.Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figuresComment

Still doing well outside of USA, according to box office reports. Especially in UK.
Opens in more foreign territories this coming weekend, too.

Dude, a three year old with kryptonite will beat Superman, lol.
Please, leave the same old tired kryptonite thing out, amazing how other superheroes need good old kryptonite to tackle on Supes.
Superman vs Spider-Man = DEAD BUG, oh, excuse me, DEAD ARACHNID, my bad, lol.sigpicComment

Let me brutally honest here, confession time, despite the fact that Superman has always been my favorite superhero, I in fact preferred reading Spidey comics, the stories were so much better than the typical bland stuff you'd find in Superman. I religiously bought The Amazing Spider-Man and the new X-Men, those two were my favorite comics books to read as a teen and young adult...but now, you have silly stuff like a Doc Oc Spider-Man, which I didn't even know, that's how much I follow comic books today, that's just silly and absurd.
I kid about Spidey, but I love him, well, the old school Spidey that is.
End of rant.sigpicComment

Actually Doc Ock Spider-man is pretty great. I mean he's evil, but the story is great. It's one of those "enjoy the ride and see where it takes you" experiences. You know Peter will return and all will be as if none of it ever happened soon enough. This storyline got me back in to Marvel after an almost 10 year absence. Mostly because it's very very "double U tee eff" and I wanted to see how it was going to play out.Comment

My dad & I watched MOS on Saturday. Amazing movie! The audience even clapped when it was over. Plus, we got in on the matinee and it was only $5.00 a piece. Awesome!

Iron Man 3 did a horrible job with the villains. Also cheesy scene with the microwave blow up was dumn, considering after he leaves that villain he has a iron man weapon glove that was hidden the whole time. He could have used it on her in first place lol. So dumb. The kid was annoying as well.... More

As a rule, movies have to double their budget to pull a profit. And MOS has some hefty marketing expenses. MOS still needs some good weekends ahead. Plus their overseas take does not give them the same returns as domestic. Nonetheless, they will need the foreign markets to dig in because the domestic side is slowing. Thursday's take was NOT good. Only $6.9 million. That's a 23% drop from Wednesday. Most are contributing the decline to the NBA final. We'll see. Monsters opens today. All the analysts have said MOS needs to keep it's second week decline below 60% to have any shot at legs. Over 60%, this film will be in trouble with other films coming in. MOS had a good first weekend. But the second weekend really tells the story about what people thought and if WOM was strong enough to get others in on top of any repeat business. It's biggest hurdle starts today.Comment

MOS will do 50-55% of opening weekend, this weekend, and halve it from there, so around 250M domestic weekends for its first month. That's without weekdays and the remainder of the summer.
MOS only did 6 opening day in China, compared to 21 for IM3. IM3 has the novelty of faux-Chinese production which helped, but that's a big divide.
MOS still has most of Pacific Asia to go, Japan, Austrailia, etc...it should perform well.
It's going to do around 75% of IM3's business, which makes sense considering IM3 is for audiences, more a sequel to Avengers than IM2.
You also have to add MOS banked around 170 in product placement before release, which covers the 150 in marketing.
Then take that theatrical is a weekly sliding scale split between distributor and exhibitor.
So, it will be profitable theatrically, but not a cash cow for WB because of how many ways the returns are split. WB's money will be in other revenue - PPV, Streaming, BR, toys, clothing, etc...
It's all about setting the table for the rest of the DCU. Between the Codex and Fortress, they have a perfect solution to explain Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Shazam, etc... and make themselves very different from Marvel.Comment

They estimate the take from China is going to be huge...some say record breaking.
Japan on the other hand, has never been a good place for American superhero flicks, look its track record in Box Office Mojo, it's terrible...Mexico had twice Japan's numbers for example...on Irom Man 3, which the Japanese embrace the most because of its similarity to the type of heroes they like, Ultraman, Power Rangers, Jet Jaguar, etc...
