Looks interesting from those brief glimpses.
The dude looks fittingly big and imposing in the suit.
Those shots of him in the Arctic wastelands were awesome!
Still missing any glimpses of the epic grandeur of Kansas farmlands so far, though.
From the trailers, I'm guessing Clark must have some kind of a life defining experience in some coastal fishing village or something.
Anyway... it's great that Supes is back on the big screen!

Kind of ironic, considering Thor was Marvel's answer to Superman in the early days of Marvel.
Even though the Returns suit had more of the iconic costume elements (trunks, belt), this suit feels more SuperMANish to me, from what we've seen of it.

Did some of you guys watch a different trailer? That was TERRIBLE. It certainly didn't feel epic. I looked dark, bleak, the music was godawful, and what the heck was up with him meditating underwater?
Superman is NOT Batman, and I think Nolan's gritty, realistic influence is all over this and just feels wrong.
Just based on the first two trailers, I have no desire to see this at all.
Hopefully that will change.Comment

I quite enjoyed it. I think I even like the costume. If you look at it from a Kryptonian standpoint and not a 1940's circus performer it makes sense. (Not that I don't love his old outfit shorts and all cause I do. It's iconic).
When he flies for the first time in this trailer I got goosebumps. It was impressive watching all the snow and various particles shift away from him as he takes off. Also, I like the bit where he's a kid and he gets his superhearing. I always thought it would be a traumatic experience hearing everything at once and he'd have to learn how to control it. Very cool.
Also I'd like to mention that Nolan did not direct it.Comment

^^ It still feels like the Nolan blueprint, and his name is attached as a producer. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Yeah, I hope it's a bit playful.
It looks like it has heart, I'm encouraged by what I see. It's weird to see Superman and not hear that Williams score (which is probably why I didn't get goosebumps) but I understand why it's not there.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

And yes, I missed the Williams score, but Superman Returns use of it kind of made it somewhat radioactive for this film.

It looks humorless, dialog-heavy and self-indulgant. Superman looks like a sulky bore. I think the 70s movie worked because they added some layers of depth to the character without changing the character - this (literally and figuratively) grayer version doesn't say 'Superman' to me.
If they don't believe the public can accept a bold, bright and forthright version of the character than maybe they should have made another movie or messed with a less iconic character.
It's just like Superman's uniform to me - either people are going to buy a blue guy in a red cape or they are not. Changing the blue and red to be duller doesn't fix the issue - and it doesn't make it more sophisticated. It's just duller.Comment
