I could live with it. Let's face it, the superhero genre has been pretty generous to caucasians over the years. If you asked any average/moderate comic fan to name their favorite Marvel or DC heroes, how many would be of ethnicity? ZERO. How many years did it take for the JLA to invite a black dude into the team? Of course his name was Black Lightning and he had a fro.
I'm all for maintaining the integrity of tradition within comics and the corresponding films, but times have changed drastically, and so has the demographic make-up of the US. We all need to adjust with the times. A new interpretation, done with respect and for the right reasons, is very much welcome. Don't cast a minority in the PeterParker role to fill a quota or to be intentionally controversial. That won't fly. Do it because he's the perfect fit, and from what I've seen of Glover, he's not far off.
Change is cool, just make it for the correct reasons.

Now THAT'S a conversation I'd've been psyched to get a piece of before
mods would've zapped part (or all) of it... alas, in spite of the tasty conversation...nothing too pressing on my mind at current the time.... added
to the fact that even if there WAS...I don't know if I'd have the cahones to
post it!
OKAAAAAY, I admit...one thought DID cross my mind but ONLY Hector gets
to read it.......... in a PM

Did you read my first posts on the matter?

I just kinda slightly changed my mind when I saw the current contenders...what a bunch of wankers...

Back to the topic at hand.
Would Danny Mcbride make a good Spiderman?

Okay for the sake of settling this matter, not igniting a new one, let's just say I didn't take too well to being asked how to view another person when I was just throwing my two cents in about how I want to see a comic book portrayal. In my eyes you were stepping into my value system, telling me I have to respect this guy. I have strong feelings on that whole issue. I like Spidey white, like I enjoy Falcon being black and milk on my cereal you know? I'm just tired of our system saying that being different means you change their ethnic scheme. It's fake. Sorry I got ticked with you Hector. My apologies.
