    The "Dark" Stuff apparently Sells.
It's Obviously the Direction of Comics right now,.. & Has been for a Bit. If it didn't sell,.. The Cheese Dick of the Silver Age Woulda Made a return & Been in something Worth While,.. other than a Cartoon where Adults are Trying to Re-Capture their Youth enjoying the Toon with their Children. IMO Even JLU to Some Degree was Dark. I also Believe this is the Best Concept of for the JLA,.. in yrs & Most Definately Better than Any JLA Book since the Relaunch. At least for me,.. it gives me something to look foward too.

I'm looking forward to this book, but then again I haven't hated anything DC's done lately. Some of it I'm not thrilled with but not to get me to stop reading it

Since when does DC have any original ideas these days anyways?

Final Crisis? Done in Morrisons JLA run.
R.E.B.E.L.S? Second series with exact same premise as 1st series.
Batman out of commision and Dick as Batman? Done. Admittedly better art this time around though.

Next they will tell us they are going to kill Superman. Oh no.

Don't get me wrong, I have always been a major DC guy. But these days, my pull list has shrunk quite a bit. And not because of the economy I'm afraid. As far as the new JLA mini, I'll probably wait for the trade.

          Thanks for the info there.

I think one of my primary lack of knowledge here is that I'm
probably thinking there's less attention to a serious continuity than
there actually is in the overall published DCU.

Okay, so this particular idea has been done to death!

Batman and The Outsiders - The '80's had a number of different branches of the Justice League - including Antarctica! Captain Atom did his version of Extreme Justice; J'onn J'onzz led a JL Task Force; there was the Justice Leagues of A! And wasn't there just another Extreme Justice that Doug Mahnke and Tom Nguyen did a couple years back? With Flash and Green Arrow aboard?

I'm picking this up only because I'm a fan of Robinson and it features Mikaal Tomas. I saw a preview, and Hal is almost saying the same thing Batman said in BATO #1. I want to see Starman, Batwoman, Supergirl, Captain Marvel, GL, GA and the gorilla together...

I remember way back in the day when GA quit the League because they had forgotten about regular people and had become to far-out - wasn't that the late '70's?
              Shameless self-promotion -

Maybe perhaps why I am so Jazzed about this,.. is because I never personally read any of the Above mentioned Books,.. & really only BATO Here or there....

Also,.. The Idea of another Book,.. that is JLA Fueled with Hal & Ollie just sounds so cool to me. Never really a Fan of Roy in Ollie's shoes in the JLA Book,.. & even more so when Him & Wally go & hang with the Titan's every Month too.

I just like the Line up of the Group,.. & with the Idea if Libra being the so far named #1 Super Villian,.. it just sounds cool to me.

It'd be cooler if Hal's team would be a bit less mainstream. More fringe DCU characters like Congorilla and the Mikaal Starman would have made this look less like just another JLA lineup.

The art is nice, and Starman is my favorite comic series of all time, but this definitely looks like a rehash of an idea that comes around every few years. DC seems to be just reexploring the same material with new writers and artists, see the New Batman, Superman in Exile, etc.

Whatever happened with GeoForce anyway? He appears in the early JLA issues and sets up some stories, then promptly dissapears. What happened? I know he is in the Outsiders book but they could have explained it better.

^^^^ There was a One Shot I read with Geo-Force,,...
Where he was pretty Much Hell Bent on Killing DeathStroke,.. Tried to get Black Lighting to Help Him too....
Well,.. When everything was said & Done,.. Geo-Force Kinda sorta Defeated DeathStroke,.. Then I guess Rolled back to the Outsiders. I have not picked up a JLA Book for a Long while,.. So I personally dunno what has really happened to that character in that book.

Geo-Force got swapped out to the Outsiders before the one-shot with Deathstroke I think...Once his cover was blown with Deathstroke I think he was pretty much useless to the JLA.

well, no. But consider a uppity a list superhero like Hal running around with the likes of Congorilla, Starman Mikaal, and dig up some other wierdo's like maybe Major Disaster,Ragman, Bulletgirl, and a few others. That would be more interesting than what they did put together. 3 main Leaguers, a few legacy heroes, and a couple oddballs.

Supergirl is Not really a League'er ,... & Shazam! Has never really been a League'er,.. has he ?
