Well Hal & Superman Got into a Bit of an Arguement over the Direction of the League,... With Hal Basically Saying He's Tired of Being in Superman/Batman & WW's Shadows letting them call the Shots of the Direction of what the League Does....

Because of the Deaths of John Jonzz & Now Bruce,... Hal wants to Take the Fight to the Baddies. He's Gunning for Libra & His Half Arse Circle Of Clowns.

        Darnit.

I was gonna throw Ollie in my little quip there and opted not to.

Ya gotta believe me, I was THINKING it

Sounds like a cool classic JL dealie.

This was a great idea when it was Batman and the Outsiders in 1982.

Mutiny/splinter group ideas originated in 1982?

^^ Phhh, I don't know, but its just not a very original idea, especially for DC. Like I check dates for a comic sub-board post. And shouldn't the rest of the League be a tad bit concerned that Hal is getting peeved about injustices and not going far enough?

You mean because that was always Ollie's shtick and Hal was traditionally a law and order guy? I know that characters are all over the map these days, but Hal was classically one way and Ollie leaned the other direction. Does it still kind of play out that way, now?

They probably WOULD be concerned IF Batman was still around....since Hal's resurrection in "Rebirth", Bruce has been the one to give Hal a hard time...the definitely don't see eye to eye. The other jokers in the League lately must be turning a blind eye.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing...To tell the truth, I'm not impressed with this and I'm not onboard with the whole thing. I haven't been thrilled with any of James Robinson's work since he returned to DC....this doesn't seem like the same writer who brought us such gems as "The Golden Age" and "Starman". His Superman work has been sub-par IMO and I expect this JLA stint to be the same. Thankfully this has been downgraded to a six-issue mini instead of the ongoing it was supposed to be.

I for one am sick of everything and everybody getting darker and darker....super-teams included. We've got Dark Avengers now (I do like this book though but let's just call it "Thunderbolts by Brian Michael Bendis" cause that's what it is...)....Dark X-Men are coming. We've already got X-Force gone black ops....now JLA too. Enough is enough. When the heroes get as dark as the badguys, there's no need for badguys.

^ I never saw were Black Canary was leader material anyway.....Personally I liked when the JLA had rotating chairmen/women and had a rotating membership...Called AS NEEDED. This monthly soap opera with Speedy (Red Arrow) banging Hawkgirl and Vixen having power problems and Red Tornado crying cause he ain't human every month has GOT TO GO!

                            Yeah, I remember reading that.

Still, I'm confused about which stories are like
new stories set in a more classic Universe.

I got that JLA YEAR ONE tb in the 90s and it seemed to totally ignore
                            the real modern DCU.

                            Anyways...excuse any ignorance.

                              Hugh,
JLA Year One was a retcon/reboot....they tried to fix stuff like having Black Canary take Wonder Woman's place as a founding member since in revised continuity WW didn't show up as early (after Crisis on Infinite Earths changed everything). However, the point may be moot because Wonder Woman has been restored as a founding member. I'm not sure how much of JLA Year One is still in current continuity...it gets confusing without my socrecard in front of me....
