Anyone know where and in what context did Megan Fox call Wonder Woman "Lame"?

      http://www.bleedingcool.com/2009/06/...wonder-wonder/

A few weeks ago, Megan Fox said in an interview that she wasn’t interested in playing Wonder Woman because she thought Wonder Woman was “lame”. This prompted DC editors and creators at Heroes World Convention later to attempt damage control by proclaiming that this wasn’t true, Wonder Woman IS NOT LAME, really, honestly, everybody, please don’t listen to the movie star, she’s only the hottest actress in the world who has more fans than any DC comic right now.

And the bad news is, Fox, in her early 20s, is representative of the teens-twenties demographic sweet-spot that DC and the movie studios are trying to attract. This might prove once and for all that kids do not give a toss about Wonder Woman. They’re reading manga and watching anime. They think Wonder Woman is naff, a superhero only their aging aunties care about.

megan Fox is just like most girls old, young, famous or not---
they don't latch onto action movies until they kill at the box office,
then they're along for the ride almost as much as the guys.

Wonder Woman could be the next smash superhero/action movie
as much as any other...it just takes a good script and some bravery, people!

As Beautiful as Megan is she's too short to play Wonder Woman and Megan isn't a really good actress she's just eye candy.

I'd rather they cast a stunning unknown with the look and the ability to act for Wonder Woman.
The problem with going with a known actress is that's all it'll be such and such is playing WW. We'll see the actress not the character.

What made Chris Reeve amazing in Superman was that nobody knew him....and he had the acting chops....he made us all believe that he was Superman.

I believe you have to do the same thing for a WW movie to work.

I know really here's Warner bros. A major movie Studio with some of the greatest Superheroes ever and they can't churn out any movies consecutively. Yet Marvel will give us crap like The Punisher and Ghost Rider without a hitch.....

I Liked the 1st Punisher Movie,... even with Travolta's Bad acting,.. imo... His character just wasn't too believable... I also Liked Ghost Rider.... Didn't care Much for X-3 or F4 2 OR the 1st Hulk Flick ....

Mavel has completely *****d their Properties out in Hollywood,.. that's why you see so many of them.... I personally to some degree believe they had the right Idea....

                WB sucks imo...
They & DC just want to continually keep everything "In House" ... & for some reason keep focusing on and wasting thier Money & resources on Crap Fests like Speed Racer.

As long as they keep doing that,... Marvel will rule the Box Office imo.

                Marvel Owns the Movies...
DC owns the Toons,.. but thats because of Timmiverse.

I was pretty angry at the Punisher War Journal..I thought they had the right guy but just couldn't pull it off... Ghost Rider is good without Cage hahah
The FF sucked big time that was soooo insulting to me i was sooooo disappointed with those 2 crappy movies.

Hulk one was Garbage but they rebounded nicely with the reboot. Daredevil needs to be rebooted.

Yup agree WB does good toons better than Marvel. But Seriously what's sooo hard about making a Superman movie where he just beats the crap out of a bad guy!!! I don't mind Lex Luthor but why the freek is he always wanting land!!!! Hell he's a mad scientist with Big bucks not a two bit swindler!!!!

I hate Luthor as Superman's main go 2 Baddie in the Movies. There has been 5 Superman Movies now,.. & in 4 of them,... he is the Baddie...& The other 1 was So Horrible as a Superman Flick,.. the only person that even reconizes it as a Superman Movie is Hue.

DC & WB need to do something,... However I don't expect them too,.. atleast not with the Main characters in the DCU....

I guess we shall see if & when a Green lantern Movies comes out...
I am pretty confident we shall see a Dark Knight 3 or whatever,.. which is cool,.. I just want More.

Hex looks cool so far,... & I liked Constantine alot... & people also loved the Watchmen movie,... It seems the Lesser known properties are good movies for WB,... But boy have they continually dropped the Ball with the Big Guns.

The major issue around the disparity between DC films and Marvel films (for the past decade at least) was that Warner owns DC and thus holds all the film rights for all DC characters, whereas Marvel was free to license their properties out to multiple studios. DC films can only be made by Warner, without some major legal summersaults.

On the back of the X-Men and Spiderman film franchises (Fox and Sony respectively), Marvel Studios was able to secure enough scratch together to become their own dedicated film studio with a primary mission to get the Marvel properties onto the big screen with Iron Man and Incredible Hulk first out of the gate. Of course their are still probably many properties that Marvel handed out the rights to before the formation of Marvel Studios that are still outside of their new "indie" status. I am assuming sequels for Ghost Rider, Blade, Punisher, Man Thing, Daredevil etc. could still be made by their respective movie studios. Lionsgate, the company that has the rights to The Punisher also held the rights to Iron Fist and Black Widow in 2004, (although given her rumored appearance in Iron Man 2, those rights possibly reverted back).

Warners of course is not soley dedicated to getting only DC films made, given the vast diversity of their product. For example, their focus this year is on the Harry Potter franchise as their major summer "tentpole picture".

If we need to complain or praise the recent batch of Marvel direct to DVD animated features, it should be directed at Lions Gate. They are responsible for the most recent stuff from Ultimate Avengers, through to Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Avengers Next and Hulk Vs Wolverine/Thor.

Drawing the discussion back to Wonder Woman, it seems like most people enjoyed the animated film, which was written by current comics writer Gail Simone.

Would you guys have been interested in Buffy creator Joss Whedon's big screen version of Wonder Woman that was in development for a couple of years past, before the plug was ultimate pulled?

I used to be a BIG WW fan back in the 70's and 80's, and bought her comics almost to the exclusion of all others.

I haven't really gotten into the new series, except for maybe one or two issues tops.

There have been too many artist changeovers, too many deviations from the backstory, waaaaayyy too many changes in overall characterization, some of the dialogue is so out there it's in another galaxy, and the overall writing, except in a few instances, is barely readable.

I say we go back to the basics, give her a better rogues gallerie without having to constantly bring in overused baddies like Ares, Circe and Cheetah. With Ares, it's creepy because isn't he an ancestor of hers on her mother's side somewhere?

Circe is a vain, self-involved sorceress with a false sense of entitlement, and a "Gimme, gimme, gimme" attitude.

The Cheetah is just plain messed up in the head.

Diana needs some one strong, fearless and dedicated to be her adversary. But, it has to be a female because the whole War of the Sexes thing has been done to death.

We've only seen Greek/Roman mythology in this and that's okay, but there is a lot of mythology out there that can be mined for a supervillain.

Native American; African; Chinese; Korean; Egyptian; Polynesian; take your pick.

I'd like to see Wonder Woman go up against someone from Polynesian/Hawaiian mythology like Pele, who has a fiery temper and is NOT pleased with the way her children have been treated in the past two hundred years.

The good thing about Marvel Setting up their own shop is that we may get a chance to see movies like the Avengers and other characters that would have never been green lighted may have a chance.

WB sits on their asses with their characters come on seriously what's so hard about putting out a good Superman, Wonder Woman etc movie out. Lynda Carter was is the iconic WW with a limited TV budget and cheesy effects...and yet some 30 years later she's still remembered.

Just in Casting WW would cause a huge buzz for the movie just like Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara did in Gone with the Wind
