need to add to the list Jim Lee. Dude is seriously stuck in the 90's Image mindset. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Infantino was definitely "smoothed over" by Anderson, Giella, Greene, etc. at DC. His stuff was always pretty loose, but got looser after he got back in to penciling after his stint as DC head honcho was over. The guy had a tremendous design sense though for sure. He designed most of DC's covers from the 60s through the time he left in the mid 70s.
Sienkiewicz on Aparo WAS horrible. I understand Jim maybe needed a stronger inker as he was getting on in years and maybe his work wasn't quite up to his old stuff, but a more traditional inker would have been better for Jim. And they just kept putting them together. Ugh.

Mike Mingola (Wolverine's Jungle Adventure is the finest bit of work he did, his older Hulk stuff was great too before he started to draw like he couldn't.)
Keith Giffen (UGH! Just sickening!)
They actually give me headaches when I actually TRY to read something they do.sigpic

Even though I enjoyed Preacher as it was well written, I'm not a big fan of Steve Dillon. All of his people, be it whether they are guys or women, look the same. Rob Liefield is a given...complete trash! Don Heck never did it for me either, or Al Milgrom (how on earth did that guy ever get a job in comics?).Comment

al milgrom(spidey stuff)..klaus jansen....rob liefeld..although his original new mutants/xforce stuff wasnt that bad, but that would image thing or heroes reborn thing...man...apparently, there was no editing or checking on it..or consistency...lol...that totally threw me off of his stuff..anyone remember when he did that levi's commercial way back when? lol...Comment

It's not just his inking....Milgrom did the pencil art on Secret Wars II....Ugh!
(Of course, Secret Wars II pretty much sucked anyway....)Last edited by The Toyroom; May 25, '09, 7:14 PM.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Here's another one I dislike: Richard Corben. Some people think he's great, but I just think his art is freaky.Comment

I liked Milgrom's early stuff. He did some nice DC covers. His style completely changed at Marvel. Maybe it was him inking his own stuff. A lot of it looked like it was inked with a frayed tooth brush.
I liked McFarlane's stuff at the time, but it was a lot of flash with little substance. The work doesn't hold up. His layouts were hard to follow, overwrought with design. His big eyes and up-turned noses kind of got out of control later on. He did bring a lot of energy to Spidey, I'll give him that. Made it exciting again.
I'll also admit to buying Spawn for the first 20 or so issues. I quickly got tired of it though.

I fond his Infinity Inc. stuff to be VERY distracting with all of the pinups and border designs....IMO he was a poor substitute for the late Don Newton who had begun work on the title after Jerry Ordway's departure.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I think it's what I was saying about the artists I don't care for: there's very little development or experimentation, so after a few issues you've seen everything they're ever gonna do. Even if they TRY something different, it's not different.
