Marvel Family - What the hell?

Just one of my personal pet peeves.
I feel Marvel stole that name.

Marvel Comics number 1 1939. Marvel did create a character called Captain Marvel to prevent the use of the name by any other publisher, at the time Billy Batson was still in limbo and not being used by DC. There was a rather crappy other Captain Marvel from MF Publishing http://internationalhero.co.uk/c/capmarv1.htm I'm guessing DC and Marvel had to reach an agreement before the first issue of Shazam! could be published by DC.

How come all the books & Images are still soliciting the Character, & in the Red Suit,.. if he is no Longer going to be a Part of the Book ?

Bolts correct. Freddy Red/Blue Shazam (whatever) isn't in the Robinson JLA mini.

The JSA issues that "fixed" the Marvel Family (?) were the two issues preceding the Alex Ross cover. the MF wasn't fixed. The wizard, Shazam, was brought back, and he's ****ed. He turned Black Adam & Isis into statues and took his power away from Billy & Mary (and by extension, Freddy, also).

Honestly, I have no faith in DC using the MF properly in Earth-O DCU. That character is dead to me. However, I've really liked what's been done with the Johnny DC title, Billy Batson and the Magic of SHAZAM! That's a fun book. I don't know if the Johnny DC title is Earth-5/S (?), and I don't care. It's the only good Captain Marvel since the run in World's Finest.

^^^ I dunno, I read that was part of the delay for the book.

I think the nature of the painted artwork is the majority of the delay and the DCU landscape has changed somewhat since it was originally solicited so stuff had to be rewritten and modified. But I could've sworn I read last week that Jr. was still in it, in the red suit.

I was actually looking forward to that new JLA Book... Still Am,.. But I thought the Idea of whatever Shazam! wound up being an added Bonus for the Book... I guess we will see what happens. I have personally never been a Fan of the new Benes JLA Revamp book,.. Outside of His ArtWork,.. I ,Mean, really,.. Who gives a Damn about Vixen, Geo-Force or BlackLighting..., & Now the Wonderful World of NO Superman,... it's old,.. it didn't work,.. so Now Since Red Arrow is Back in Titans,.. Lets Give the Book back to the Big Boys,.. Throw Green Arrow Back in there, Atom, Shazam@! & Even Supergirl... I guess thats why I am looking forward to this book....

If you go to DC's new blog the source, there's a cover for the new JLA book, probably the 2nd issue or whichever one comes out in August and Freddy's on the cover. Wherever you're getting your info about him not being in the miniseries is off base. He may not be on the first cover, but not every character always makes the cover

I alway thought the Marvel's Captain Marvel was really pronounced Captain Mar-Vel,(sorry had to use the dash instead of a dot), because that was his Kree name and rank in the Kree military. This also allowed Marvel not to run into copyright problems with DC.

I'll give my patented answer here which is DC will not right itself until Didio gets the boot. I'm not usually "get rid of the guy" type of person but the majority of Didio's decisions are off the mark and really show that he has no grasp of the core essence of these characters.

^^^^^^^^^^It's been my experience that the people who are the worst at their jobs (in the majority's eyes) are the ones who the management think are the greatest and never get in trouble or get fired.
That's why I like to add an "L" to Didio's name: "Dildio"

But in the New Dark Avengers line up, there is a new Captain Mar-Vel Present.
