^^^^^^^^^^It's been my experience that the people who are the worst at their jobs (in the majority's eyes) are the ones who the management think are the greatest and never get in trouble or get fired.

He didn't take Freddy's back...JSA #25 ended with him going to look for Freddy 'cause Freddy is now using the "Shazam" name. Freeman's powers come from the gods and NOT Shazam so Freddy is still powered...for now.

I alway thought the Marvel's Captain Marvel was really pronounced Captain Mar-Vel,(sorry had to use the dash instead of a dot), because that was his Kree name and rank in the Kree military. This also allowed Marvel not to run into copyright problems with DC.

We've probably discussed this a dozen times over the years, but long story short is that Fawcett produced Captain Marvel ("Shazam!" comics in the Golden Age). Lawsuit filed by DC against Fawcett which claimed Captain Marvel was a copyright infringement on Superman (strong guy in tights and cape) eventually ran Fawcett out of business. In the Silver Age of the sixties Marvel comics decided they needed to publish a title called Captain Marvel to secure their copyright over the name. DC decides to revive the original Captain Marvel, but Marvel has the name, so they publish him under the title "Shazam!".

Interesting Trivia: One of Marvel's revamps of Captain Marvel involved bonding him with teenage side-kick character Rick Jones. Rick would slam his wrist bands together and be replaced by Captain Marvel. Kind of an obvious nod to the concept of the original.

Yeah Rick Jones is Marvel's perennial kid sidekick....first with the Hulk, then Captain America, then later still with Captain Marvel.
