Thanks guys. Still not happy with the hair, but I will look at it again tomorrow with fresh eyes.

That Dr Honarius sculpt is really really great! I think it's a good likeness. Those Oran-utans seem to go for fringes (do you guys call em 'bangs'?) in their hair. Zauis' is combed straight down, while the reference shot that you have of Honarius shows his swept to one side, like your sculpt.
Fantastic work!Leave a comment:

Blast from the past...
Dr. Honorious from a year ago. I reworked his muzzle because I really hated it...and then I figured I had improved and to try him again...so the grey one to the right is how I resculpted him. He's got a Dr. Zaius vibe so I don't know what went wrong. I think it's the hair but I'll rework it before I cure it.
This is the ugly guy under the makeup because I was too frustrated trying to sculpt it from scratch.

It's coming along like crap.
I seriously need to get back to this, but I was so disgusted I stopped work. I have a plan though. I'm not defeated yet!

Here's Ashton helping me try to cover up the green clay with white clay to help me build up the sculpt. Actually I think Dylan and Ashton are both excited about this project. Dylan asked me why I was working on Urko yesterday, and not the ninja turtle.
Here's Urko, being made ready for the negative mold. Those green strips are not really keys. They're there so that I can pry apart the molds. I just remembered how horribly I messed up Zira's molds when I pried it apart.
