this is what I am going to have to do for now on...those FTC bodies suck! The type S body is much better plastic and heavier (some actual quality to it)

That Batman pic is very tempting, I have to admit.

It's not the Type S bodies, it's the FTC design. They've been scaled wrong since the India production days.

This is very nice! I like it.

The problem with the FTC bodies, even the new ones, is that they are still hollow; unlike the type S, and even Doc's bodies, which are solid plastic all the way through. You can tell the difference when you hold them in your hands. The type S/Doc Mego bodies have a nice heft to them, whereas the FTC, and even the original Mego's are very lightweight.

But so are a lot of the other figures I have (original Mego and Bif Bang Pow figures come to mind). Not all hands fit onto the Type S (FTCs certainly don't) but there are ways around that. Some of the FTC clothes are too tight on the Type S, and the heads have a shorter post so they don't make a snug fit. They don't wobble, but they pop in and out very easily. Not necessarily a big deal really. Mego and Mattel heads are almost too tight, but they fit.

The Type S is NOT an exact repro of the Mego Type 2. The legs are thinner, and the body as a whole is taller.

I am looking forward to Do Megos bandless body.
Swapping the heads off FTC bodies to Type S bodies is hit or miss. As Iron has said in the pat, Batman's head was still a little loose on a Type S body. But while Dick Grayson literally wobbles on the FTC body, he is tight as a drum on the Type S body.

IMO if you are going to be doing a lot of posing or want to let children play with the figures, I would swap them to a Type S body. I honestly can't see the FTC bodies surviving even an afternoon of play from a couple of 6 year-olds.

So what exactly is the issue with FTC hands fitting into type S bodies? If I can't get them to fit, will Doc Mego hands work? I'm close to buying a lot of Type S figures at the bulk discount because they look great and I love the poses they can hold but I just want to make sure there aren't any unwelcome surprises waiting for me. The extra hand sets ZICA includes look awesome and I can't wait to try them out, but for certain FTC characters with colored hands (Joker, Penguin, Riddler for example) it would be nice if I could just snap those hands into the Type S figure.

Make sure the lower leg is pushed all the way up into the thigh. Sometimes you have to push very hard or maybe even heat them up. The legs should be even if they are put together right.

FTC should be ashamed of themselves charging 24.99 for the inferior crap that they selling....every figure I buy from them I am going to have to swap out....and it's not about playing with them,it's knowing my figure isn't going to break just looking at it

Yeah, for me FTC is just heads and costumes. Still the heads and costumes are pretty nice.

Same here. I doubt FTC will ever have high quality bodies, they just never seemed to have cared about that. So I went into buying the figures from them knowing that, I bought them for the head and costume. The bodies I will use will either be the Zica or DocMego bandless body, and I am sure with either one there will have to be some tweaking. Been trying to come up with a workable remedy for the FTC Batman head not being snug on the Zica Type-S.
My posts were needlessly deleted ...

So why do you keep buying them if you think they are crap?

                          I didn't keep buying them

I bought a Batman and Robin and opened them for the first time last night....had the 66' Batman set on pre-order months ago..that is all I bought from FTC so far

I plan on buying Conan (swapping him on a Zica body) and if I can swap the '66 Batman figures on the Zica bodies,I'll still buy those...

Will I buy anymore? don't know....but what I have experienced with FTC so far,the bodies suck and are unposable (strung too tight). They are not worth the 24.99 price that they are charging for them, especially with the "cheap" dollar store plastic they are using for a body

I really HOPE the EMCE MARVEL figures do NOT have body problems or even close to the crap FTC is serving their customers

I have done this. Didn't change anything.

The posts are too small. You can wrap some tape around them for an easy fix.. Or swap out the pins, which is what I did. Not the perfect solution for the white and other-colored hands since it leaves a flesh colored post, but it's not that big a deal. Mattel hands are too small as well.

I like the bodies, but they are not without their peculiarities.

Okay, tried the pushing leg thing again, and did get some results this time. Much more even than before. Not sure why it didn't work for me when I first got them.
