What is Doc's other project for bandless bodies?

In another thread Doc said, "The bandless bodies are for another project that I cannot talk about."

We're getting Marvel, could other project be STAR WARS? What do you think?

Hope we find out by Mego Meet or SDCC!

I just hope hey come out reasonably soon because I could use some Mego-type bodies to transplant FTC heads and costumes onto. Right now I don't know if I should take the plunge for type S bodies or wait for Doc's to arrive, but I really am tired of elastic bands.

I'm a bit leery of the type S only because I've read some posts here where people have said that certain heads didn't fit well on the figures. I don't want to buy a bunch of these and then find that the heads I transplant onto them are wobbly. Also someone said that the legs on their type S bodies weren't even? And that Mego hands don't work with these?

the legs look even to me.....the body is an exact type 2 without the bands.....the torso unscrews to place the Head...I can't imagine these not working with any MEGO figure,FTC figure or the upcoming EMCE Marvel considering they are replicating the old bodies

I think it will either be a Brady Bunch line or Facts of Life.

I have had issues with FTC heads fitting on the Type S body; the neck to plug gap isn't always wide enough for how thick the plastic of the chest is on the type S body. I am sure it could be remedied. There is probably going to be compatability issues between all these different machined parts by so many different companies and figure lines. I assume there will always be some level of customization involved. Don't know how anyone would make a body that fits everything universally. Not defending the Type S, I just mean even Doc Megos new bandless body will probably have some compatability issues between his figure lines, old Megos, new FTC figures and Zica stuff for the simple fact that they all are slightly different in various ways.

Plus, I heard the Type S legs kick puppies and the Type S butt passes some wicked gas...

Some heads are reportedly loose around the neck plug. That's such an easy fix it's barely worth considering in my opinion.

I'm thrilled to death with the type s bodies I have and plan to buy a bunch more. Would like to see some of dog's bandless bodies and would LOVE to know what the secret project is. Always seems to work out to be something that I don't much care about. Not marvel, then, what could it be?

Here's another question: has the Type S body cornered the market for people who are looking to upgrade their Megos, or are a substantial number of people waiting to see Doc Mego's upcoming bandless body?

I'll say this for the Type S--the poses it can hit look sweet. It would be really nice, being able to pose my Megos on the shelf in some manner other than "standing with arms at the sides" or "one arm slightly bent, holding a gun". I'm pretty tempted to buy a whole pile of these but still, I tend to get frustrated when figures need me to come up with my own fixes, so...still on the fence.

That was me. The Type S bodies aren't the "perfect" solution for swapping out on each and every type of Mego figure. The legs on all 10 that I bought are slightly uneven. But so are a lot of the other figures I have (original Mego and Bif Bang Pow figures come to mind). Not all hands fit onto the Type S (FTCs certainly don't) but there are ways around that. Some of the FTC clothes are too tight on the Type S, and the heads have a shorter post so they don't make a snug fit. They don't wobble, but they pop in and out very easily. Not necessarily a big deal really. Mego and Mattel heads are almost too tight, but they fit.

The Type S is NOT an exact repro of the Mego Type 2. The legs are thinner, and the body as a whole is taller.

I am looking forward to Do Megos bandless body.

Doc is obviously working on a line of "The Golden Girls" mego figures!

Here's an FTC Batman converted to a Type S body. Looks pretty darn good if I may say so myself. We've gone through well over 1000 of these bodies in a short amount of time and I can count the number of complaints we've received on one hand.
