I never criticized Mike's custom Creature. I don't know Mike but he is a very talented guy and his Creature custom figure looks nice. Just my opinion that the official EMCE / DST version should not have a cloth outfit. Also just my opinion that the Remco Creature with a cloth suit is lame. Sorry if my opinion bothered any of you guys enough to invite wiseguy comments. Yeah, it does work both ways. The AHI Creature is my personal holy grail in collecting and it does not bother me one bit if any of you guys think it's lame. If the EMCE / DST guys decide to go with a cloth suit I'll still buy it to complete my collection, not lose any sleep at night, still share my opinions and ideas here with other friends and collectors here on the forum and go on with life.

Compare the lame AHI Creech to Mike's nicely taylored cloth outfit "kit" . . . . Works both ways.

I dont know, as much as i love Universal Monsters, with a cloth suit, I will pass on this one. I just dont see a "lake monster" wearing clothes.

That's a really great idea. It could probably be done using a thermography process (i.e. raised letters on business cards and wedding invitations).

    Cloth suit? Yes.
    Rubberized cloth suit? Yes.
    Sculpted, posable figure? Yes.

No matter how they do it, I'm in!

I do really dig that custom everyone's talking about though. It's scrumtrelescent!

I just really don't see DST wanting to pay for the extra tooling for a one time use body, the already made EMCE body is more economical and more than likely what will be used. Otherwise we are probably looking at a figure about double the price. I agree with whoever said if its all sculpted it ends up being a Diamond Select statueish figure.

That is true Jim, but, the Sideshow 12" Creature which is only several years old fetches $200-$400 on ebay now for a $50 original purchase price, and they made between 2500-5000 of those only a few years back. I trully get the "clothes" thing with mego, but this particular character, being all flesh, need to be all flesh. I just cant help but think it will cheapen the line.

That is much what I was thinking as well.

I love cloth- no question! But, with some figures, take Iron Man for example, It just feels so much more real (I know we're talking toys here) with the modern figures made of hard plastic- or some of the modern Batman figures where his suit was not fabric but some sort of Bat-Armor - once again hard plastic or rubberized vinyl really works.

I think a modern creature with a rubberized body would be awesome- but chances are, I will buy one no matter what he's made of.

Just using AHI as an example, retailed for a couple of $$, sells today for $500-$1000 loose, sometimes more. It also won the monster contest on this very site! Although the Mike Oz custom Creature is this best made to date, the production version of this character needs to be all plastic.
Fabric does not eqaul flesh. All the monsters done so far are upgrades, quite realistic too.
Please, spend the extra money and do this figure right.

I'm partial to a cloth suit. That's definitely the route Mego would have taken... and it looks great on that custom.
