They were going for about $30 apiece (which was worth it for me to buy a WW or Captain Cold right off the peg, not to mention I enjoy supporting decent local businesses) whereas the TRU was selling them for about $22 (and last weekend they were down to $18 each!). I concur, the Merivale location is pretty great and the Bank St location has a great selection/variety of stuff too. You had mentioned the Silver Snail here in Ottawa and I forgot to mention that I checked into there once or twice too but I find it depressing/boring to go in there and never buy from there. The Comic Book Shoppes are much more fun, bright and exciting places to shop for comics, action figures, manga, etc.
That's interesting about Toys on Fire having reasonably priced Retro Trek stuff; I'll have to get out there sometime soon to see what's new there/give them another shot as I haven't been back there since last fall (I was a bit put off by their prices on 25th GI Joe stuff and their lack of variety at the time)
Love to hear what you find at toys on fire! I agree about the Ottawa snail.
