I am also frustrated to go into Toys R Us on Long Island and find
nothing but Sinestros and Lex Luthors - a year after they debuted.

Then I see the Star Trek movie figures and feel better.

It is entirely up to Toy R Us as to where and when they distribute
these figures - if at all. I brought it up with our guy at Mattel
and he has no more input into TRU product handling than we do.

Doc, I always wondered if I just missed them, the TRU express stores they had during x mas had wave 2, but the massapequa, Bay shore, and Valley stream ones got nothing? It's TRU fault totally. the only TRU that gets them on the regular on LI is the Carle Place one, but it's a hike from Lindenhurst! (I have friends with kids check Valley Stream)

Thank god for the places like Amok and Oohs and Oz, otherwise i'd go berserk!

oh yeah and the Star Trek figs...love to buy an army of Sulus from a film made 3 years ago at $7 each!

I just remembered one more store in my area it's a TRU in South Shore Plaza in Braintree MA. they had wave 3 all of them. That was after I bought the 3 I didn't find at New England Comics but I don't mind buying them from comic book stores even if it cost me 5 or 6 more. I like picking them out myself.

I'm gonna go again and look for wave 4. I sure hope they have them.

It's not now and never was - regardless of whether or not
you can find them in Toys R Us.

Would I like to see end caps full of them? Would that sight
prompt someone here to say that that was proof that the
          figures aren't selling?
I was more commenting on Ghostbusters, that line isn't moving one bit at my local TRU. They've been there as long as the long gone TZ, Universal Monsters and Venture figures.

Paul are you able to offer any insight into why Meijers appeared to be setting up pegs to offer this line, only to take them back down? It seemed like a great idea. Were you even aware they were interested in carrying this line or is that something Mattel doesn't discuss?

Ghostbusters are gangbusters here in NY, they sell quite well. as do the Twilight Zone, and Venture Brothers! I wish they had stocked Star Trek re-megos!

Well the TRU distribution "model" is always puzzling. Good thing is they are selling somewhere and they are available......hey I would rather have them and have to look than not have them at all.

There is a TRU by us and they don't even have a spot showing where they would be hanging,so very sad.

We had quite the selection at the TRU on St Laurent Blvd here in Ottawa, Ontario and I couldn't help but snag a Darkseid, a Shazam and the last Martian Manhunter last weekend during their incredible sale (I had to resist the urge to pick up the only Superman they had in the selection even though I've been thinking about making up a Clark Kent custom and could use him...). All in all, I'm thrilled with the Retro Action series (I've got most everything from Batman and Lex Luthor thru to the Flash, Wonder Woman, Captain Cold and now the latest wave...) As a longtime Mego fan I can't wait to see what's next in store for this awesome collector's line, keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to seeing more of these north of the 49th parallel...

Did The Comic Book Shoppe and Toys on Fire stock DC Retros up in Ottawa? I assume the Silver Snail must have since they seemed to blow out of the Toronto store, even at the premium price point (around thirty bucks with the tax on top).

I couldn't say whether Toys on Fire had anything as I haven't been out to Barrhaven in a while to check their stock. I've gotten about half of my Retros from both Comic Book Shoppes (Merivale and Bank St.) and the other half at the TRU. The Comic Book Shoppe on Bank ordered in for me my Wonder Woman and Captain Cold but finding stuff like Batman, Two Face and Darkseid at the TRU has been awesome too. I made the mistake of picking up a lonely Lex Luthor at last summer's Canadian G.I.Joe Convention in Toronto and I've not looked back; Lex was just too cool looking to resist and looks great next to my vintage Megos/Retro Action heroes.

Toys on Fire seemed to me the only place in Ottawa that was stocking the Star Trek retros a while back. At a fairly reasonable price as well.

How much is Comic Book Shoppe charging for DC Retros? I could spend hours in the Merivale shop, particularly with the Anime/Manga shop next door, and Bank St seems to have upped their game since they moving across the street.

They were going for about $30 apiece (which was worth it for me to buy a WW or Captain Cold right off the peg, not to mention I enjoy supporting decent local businesses) whereas the TRU was selling them for about $22 (and last weekend they were down to $18 each!). I concur, the Merivale location is pretty great and the Bank St location has a great selection/variety of stuff too. You had mentioned the Silver Snail here in Ottawa and I forgot to mention that I checked into there once or twice too but I find it depressing/boring to go in there and never buy from there. The Comic Book Shoppes are much more fun, bright and exciting places to shop for comics, action figures, manga, etc.
That's interesting about Toys on Fire having reasonably priced Retro Trek stuff; I'll have to get out there sometime soon to see what's new there/give them another shot as I haven't been back there since last fall (I was a bit put off by their prices on 25th GI Joe stuff and their lack of variety at the time)

Went to Gainesville FL TRU on Friday. 4 Luthors and 5 Sinestros. But at least they had them.

Cant help but think....if someone as smart as Dr. Mego was involved...that a Clark Kent exclusive wont pop up somewhere....
