I'd love star sapphire too. I really like John but the others I think are OK I might get them not sure yet.

Love Kyle (as well as SC Sinestro & Guy), but these guys just don't work for me in a retro line, too modern.

I'd rather see Tomar-Re & Katma Tui & classic Star Sapphire next to Hal, John & classic Sinestro!

I think Guy, Sinestro and John may be by Bob McLeod. The back of the MOTU/DCUC Aquaman vs. Mer-Man two-pack looks to have art by McLeod as well. But that's just me guessing.

The card art looks like Bob McLeod's work.
Sorry Rod. I didn't read you post before I posted. Great minds think alike!

That, and DC and Mattel have this year to bask in the glory of this character getting what I am sure they hope to be an ongoing movie franchise.

I agree that SCIFIGUYLA nailed it with his GL through the ages theory.

Maybe, down the line, Mattel will make a more modern-looking John in a newer uniform, no mask and a different haircut. Same with Kyle.

    '90s Kyle Rayner
    Modern Sinestro

Once I saw it that way, it suddenly made sense to me why they would do a '70s John. Anyway, that's my humble observation. !

Good observation...I think you're right on!

Although, I have to admit, I think I would have preferred John in one of his more modern outfits. Oh well, c'est la vie. I'm still all over these exclusives!

Exactly how I felt as well!

I too think it's interesting that they're doing Kyle(not complaining), him not being a 70's Mego era Character. But I guess neither is Sinestro's yellow Costume. I just hope they don't try to make his Head Sculpt look "Megoey"(as Mattel put it)...as Kyle is a modern Character.

Sinestro is McLeod and Breeding. Not JLGL.....

That is no doubt Daryl Banks on Kyle.

But that is definitely not Joe Staton's Guy...
