How can you guys not know who John Stewart is? Did you miss the 6 years the Justice League cartoon was on?

John was normally shown with the traditional GL suit but without the mask in his appearances as a fill-in Lantern. When Hal quit in the mid 80s (right before the Crisis on Infinite Earths) John wore a mask at first, and then ditched it.

He first changed his costume when the Green Lantern title became Green Lantern Corps. That costume is on display in the GL DCUC 5 pack that is out right now.

    Chris

Guess I'm in the minority. I like the figure and will certainly buy it. I also like Sinestro in the yellow suit. Keep them coming.

Sometimes.. but now we've got to contend with a captcha too, which might make refreshing, and multiple tabs/windows an even bigger pain.

I like the retro versions, but It might have been a wiser move for Mattel to go with more current versions of the character.
THAT stuff is what causes ME outrage...um....annoyance.

No more "modern" character designs MATTEL please.

Isn't he one of the GL exclusives? Is he the guy with red hair and goofy haircut? I think he's one of the new ones coming out.

The only way the suit would be a cost saving issue would be if they had made too many for the Hal GL figure and needed to get rid of them. Putting one of the other Stewart suits on him would not have affected the cost one bit. R & D on that particular suit would have been miniscule in the grand scheme of production. More than likely the decision was based on the line being "Retro" and that was the original look of the character. I already redid Sinestro in this suit since he also wore it early on. I'd love to see a leather vested Guy figure as well. I'd rather see them as Matty exclusives than convention exclusives.

Totally agree! That alone makes the Figures worth $20.00. Sure we're not going to like every Figure they make...but the ones I do like, are worth it just for the Head, Hands, & Costume.

LOL! I was going to ask Brian that but I didn't want to agitate the man any further!

I dig that! Very retro. It really reminds me of being a kid which is one of the best features of this line.

Very true Del. No one is saying we're being "forced" to buy anything. All I said was if one wants to "collect 'em all" they either have to buy a figure they dislike or not "collect 'em all." So I'm not saying we're being forced to "collect 'em all"...conversely we are kind of being forced not to "collect 'em all" unless we start buying figures we dislike. That's all I was saying. Of course we can refuse to buy anything we choose not to. After decades of collecting toy lines where there seems to always be figures in the set that I didn't want to buy, I was hoping (based on the excellence of the Retro line so far) that I finally did have a toy line where I truly wanted all the figures. That's no longer the case after being reminded of these GL offerings so it's a bit disappointing to me personally is all. I'm sure many more people are thrilled to death with this figure and will buy this figure than not anyway so I'm sure I'm the minority on this. My opinion really means nothing anyway. Whatever keeps the line going...I'd still rather not collect 'em all than see the Retro line get cancelled.

I guess it's simple...if you don't like it don't buy it. There will be more...

I actually like the figure. i would buy him long before I would buy Guy Gardner. besides, John Stewart was one of the original five mentioned for this line. the 70's look of the character goes hand in hand with the retro look of the toys.
