John Stewart Retro Action

John Stewart has always been a favorite to me. Why? I don't know. I sometimes cheer for the underdog but lately Stewart has gained a lot of popularity and that is because of the cartoon.

I guess it don't matter what he looks like. I was a little teeved off at first but that's the way Mattel wants to do it and that's how it will be sold.
If I buy the figure, I agree it will make a nice Black Lightning costume.

I have had these pix on my Mego site for awhile. I post them here. Which I am sure some of you have seen.

Anyone notice the Kyle Raynor head on this card? Yes, we'll be getting as 90's Kyle sometime. I have not seen pix yet.

Yes, rehashed Hal Jordan figure with a new head. I am hoping the body is African American. I have a sneaking suspicion it isn't but as one guy said up here earlier at least he won't have ape hands.



For me? When the First Wave came to our Toys 'R Us, I bought every single figure they had on shelves. So I had a few extra Green Lantern bodies.
I later found a perfect African American head that did the trick.
Dye the suit black in some areas and I came up with this for the custom collection

This is the one GL exclusive I'm gonna get, it looks just like the Neal Adams comic version. Was hoping for an Alan Scott or Abin Sur instead of another Sinestro

Read in Toy Fare that he Matty exclusive GLs will start on sale in March with Sinestro, followed by GUy Gardner in April, John Stewart in May and Kyle Rayner in June.

Have we gotten a release date yet?

was just on the matty forum in the retro section and saw that they are releasing the GLs one a month starting in march until the release of the movie in june. don't know what order or who's on first or second... (um yeah!?)

Sorry if I missed this- Any word on future Green Lantern exclusives? I was really hoping for Tomar Re, Katma Tui, and Star Sapphire.

John Stewart looks PERFECT, just how I would want him to appear in this line!

The other 3 Matty figs look nice, but they all feel too modern for this line (even Guy)...After all, it's called RETRO-Action, right? I know, I know, why not modern figures in retro style...just a weird fit to me, I don't think it works in this line.

I'll be getting 2 Stewarts, but passing on the other 3 (even tho they are some of my FAVE GL characters).
