All I've ever seen at TRU is Lex and Sinestro. I never even got to replace my Superman that arrived broken.Comment

Monsters at TRU
DST told us that Toys R Us will be carrying the Monsters. I have yet to see
them in the Express stores and I'm having trouble finding time to visit
the regular stores near me.

The case price is $23.13 each - with free standard shipping through Christmas.
It doesn't make it worth it to buy cases unless you think that six months from
now, wave 2 figures will be selling for $40 each.Comment

I never seen Wave 2 here..., In the 2 Toysrus locations I have.
I dunno what an Express Toysrus is ..., Never heard of it before this thread.
Wave 2 of these, remind me of Wave 2&3 of the Mattel DC Universe Classics. Everyone ordered , it seemed, so Damn Many of Wave 1 ..., That they couldn't move them, then when Wave 2&3 came, they skipped them , because they were already full. I have a Hard time believing that a ToysRus Manager, or the person incharge of invoices reconize and value a particular Wave of Figures. The only few that do, are collectors themselves. They see an Item, see that the have some, and move on.
Wave 2&3 of DCU's became very hard to get in the future at cost, and most of them hold some after market Value. I dunno if it will be the same for Wave 2 of Retro's ..., but based on my own Collecting History, if you want them, you better buy them online, if you never seen them instores now, before later.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
always trading for Hot Toys Figures .Comment

If this is truly the case - TRU not ordering because a few wave 1 floaters are still on pegs - then a "Mego" style Super-Heroes resurgence is not going to happen. What a sobering thought. Oh well it was nice to dream.
At least I got my copy of "The Book" tonight. My wife got it for me for my birthday...Last edited by Astronut; Nov 17, '10, 8:56 PM.Comment

What is the wholesale on these Retros? $14.00 or $15.00? Many TRU stores gambled with this line and ordered quite a few for Wave One. When buyers didn't show up in droves to buy them, that left many stores having to recoup that original investment. Their not going to bleed on new waves if they can't move what their already underwater with. Its simply too big an investment for a toy in this economy. Stores will not risk hundreds of dollars (wholesale) on one line of action figures that are not hot sellers.
I would just enjoy them by purchasing online and relive the experience from that perspective. Ultimately its how much you like them that counts.Last edited by MIB41; Nov 18, '10, 7:57 AM.Comment
