For those not watching the live cast Joe just let it slip that the Mummy shown (Kharis) will not be made by EMCE, it's going to be Im Ho Tep when finally released.

So, does this make an 'official' Glenn Strange Monster? When do we get Abbott and Costello? But, seriously, it is an incredible likeness of Strange as the man in the monster makeup. I wasn't terribly enamored with it when I saw the prototypes, but this preview has totally sold me on the Frankenstein.

They look nice. I pre-ordered months ago through Previews catalog and I´m eagerly waiting for them. But I´m disapointed to see on this final product pictures that heads seems to be fully painted. They don´t show the rubber anywhere? To me the color of the skin has to be that from the rubbber. Always. It´s essential. Why to paint Frankenstein´face? I think that´s less realistic, less mego-like, and diminishes a lot of detail. And maybe more expensive in production?

Maybe there is an specific, exact pantone color, that Universal demands, that is not possible or very complex to achieve by pigmenting the rubber. I don´t know.

I hope Dracula´s face will not be fully painted.

You and me both! I'd pay double Mattel prices for that pair! A&C Meet Frankenstein is one of my all time favorite movies.

As far as the monsters, I still remember an old Wards Christmas catalog showing the Mego heroes battling the Azrak (I think it was them) monsters. Coolest thing I ever saw. Never forgot that image, though I truly wanted to see the JLA go up against the real monsters, the Universal versions. Had to make due with the Remco 9" versions in the old days. I loved the idea so much even as an adult that I started setting up a Halloween display for many years:

                New Page 1

So I can't really describe just how much I'm looking forward to these figures; it took close to 40 years, but I'm finally getting some real Universal Monster Megos! Can't wait! I only wish we didn't have to wait a year for the next batch!!!!

I think what is shown in those pics are still just more advanced prototypes. To fully paint the skin of the face when you can just have it molded in the skin color doesn't make production sense.

This line might be my favourite thus far, the only drag is a possible year wait for series two.

Nothing on my EE order but you don't really get anything until they ship. Joe is a Diamond guy, he might have an update.

                              They're nice.

Question - Is Frankie based on any specific Frankenstein ? ... or is he a generic combo ?

To me he looks like Bela as Frankie
