UNIVERSAL MONSTERS are here -- want mine?

Hi gang, things are a little crazed here at the shop this week, so I'm just posting stuff where I can and connecting the dots later.

First off, the Universal Monster MEGOs we're doing with Diamond are shipping, and I believe Toys'R'Us will be the first ones to get them.

I posted pix on the FB fan page for our "100 Years of Monster Movies" Friday night MONSTERCAST so you can see pics of them. We JUST got our packaged production samples now, and I have no idea how to post pictures here:

    Incompatible Browser | Facebook

I got lotsa stories to tell about getting these suckers made but boy am I happy to finally have them in my hands after 40 years of waiting for them to get done the right way (if I sound like I'm bragging, i's because I'm positively giddy). Right now I'm just spreading the word and posting pics for people to see.

That said, I'm giving my first ones away.

As you may know, every Friday night at 8PM EST my FearWerx brand runs an online "chat-along" monster movie double feature on 100ymm.com in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the monster movie. We usually give away prizes during a trivia contest.

Well, tonight's prizes are our MEGO-style Frankenstein and Wolfman. Only one person will win either of them. We'll be giving away The Wolfman during "The Wasp Woman" and Frankenstein during "The Brain That Wouldn't Die".

So, if you want to get these before they're in stores, this is probably your only chance. The only reason I'm giving them away is because I already have my production samples out of the package. I'm playing with them now :-)

Anyway, hope you all like these figs when they're outt and I hope Brian and Scott don't mind me coming on to pimp them and the show, but I feel like an over-sugared twelve-year-old right now.

Thanx for your time and continued support of our efforts.

            Totally spaced on credit, too:

The Wolfman is pretty much 90% John Farley -- head, hands and feet sculpts, plus the pattern for the outfit. We had to change the paint and fabric dyes to comply with Univeral style guide but other than that it was all him. Our staff painter Carolyn Seyster made the color changes.

Frankenstein is a Glenn Strange sculpt by Canadian special FX master Sean Sansom, whose likeness work is awesome. Paul and Carolyn did the outit and I did the hands and boots.

The drawings on the card are by Nelson Faro DeCastro, a well-known comic book artist and instructor at the School of Visual Arts.

I also forgot to mention that these are also available at Entertainment Earth:

These look amazing! Can't wait for Dracula and the Mummy.

I do hope you follow up with more monsters, maybe even a Victor Frankenstein scientist figure thrown in for good measure. And I'd love to see a Bride of Frankenstein and Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Those look awesome! Is it true that wave 2 (Mummy and Drac) don't ship until next fall?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I am totally not a vintage monster fan, and I think these are awesome. Great job, Joe!
