This is tbolt's quote that was responding to BK. My point is...that it makes no sense to tell a Guy who collects 8" Figures...to go and collect 12" Figures if he's not happy with quality of the 8" ones.

To me it's like saying...oh, you don't like the quality of the new Star Trek Figures...you should go and collect Star Wars Figures. Like you said...it's a completely different sport.

Basically we're both saying the same thing BK...there's no connection between 8" Figures...and 12" Figures.

That's my point as well. I made the choice to only collect Mego scale figures.

Perhaps you're right Bk, I didn't phrase it properly. I didn't mean that there was a problem with the 12" Figures...the problem is entirely mine. I just prefer 8" scale figures.

I think I can give you a great example: I recently had to choose between commissioning you to make me a Custom Jim Lee Batman....or buy the 12" Takara Batman Begins Figure on eBay, with a "buy it now" of $149.95(MIB).,that I had been LUSTING after for a long time.
I was torn...it was a tough decision, and I'd probably never get a chance again at a price like that, for that Figure. Ultimately I had to stick with my favorite scale...and go with your Jim Lee Batman.

Naw seriously ..., I just disagree with aspects of your Origional Statemental Opinion ..., as far as the problem with Hot Toys and DC Direct is that they are not 8inches. IMO I like the size of them just fine.

I want the Baddest Figures in My Collection...., with the Most detail and Character likeness. Hot Toys, SideShow and DC Direct 13incher's , really set the bar Higher than before, and is what I am into, more than anything Retro in 8inch scale.
And that's cool Dude...there's no rule saying we can't collect both. Some of my favorites are Custom Megos, over Originals. I own a couple by that BlackKnight Guy.

Every Customizer Before Me, and custom shop, has taught me that you can just make your own. I have more fun with that, and more interest for the most part with that, than purchasing re-mego in 8inch form. If they did look like a Hot Toys figure, or a DC 13incher,... now that may be another story ofcourse.

I own one...the DC Direct Black & Gray Batman. I'm just a Mego Collector at Heart, and don't want lots of 12 or 13" Figures. Besides...if I wait long enough, somebody will shrink the Heads.

Well, we only have one TRU in Maine...and when ever I go there, they have all 4 Figures to choose from. It wan't that way when they first came out...but it is now. Not that I'm complaining...I needed a 2nd Sinestro & Superman.

It looks like Mattel put no effort in the figures. Emce Apes and Star Trek were done great. And Cast-a-way is making great looking retro figures for a small company love the Phantom and the captain action stuff. I bought the Green arrow and green lantern and change the body and boots to make it look a little normal. I've been collecting toys for almost 30 years and seen junk come and go. I was in Toys R Us and heard some kids say what stupid looking Superman they laughed and put it down. Most TRU have shelves full of all the figures and they are not selling. if you guys want to see more figures complain to Mattel to make it look better because they will be marked down at TRU and closed out. And no re-orders and that we will the end of retro. That my 30 years of watching toy lines come and go.
So far everyone has seen these fly off the pegs, couple of villains remain sometimes, but eventually they sell too. Guess you're going to the wrong TRU then
