If Wave 2 comes out in July, when does Mattel stop making Wave 1?

I get the feeling Mattel is testing the waters for this format beyond the comic shop/ collector's market. The early sellouts are telling them something. -
Gotta agree with this. It almost seems as if Mattel doesn't care wether this line is a succes or not. They're only sold in one store in stead of more stores and worldwide and there's almost no advertising for these.I'm very disappointed in the advertising of these figures....haven't seen anything on the second wave except here at the Museum. Nuthin even in the Toy Mags....and still nuthin on the most anticipated figure..BATMAN....we still haven't seen the actual Batman figure....what the heck? Maybe I'm just over anxious....But I'm really bummed with the lack of communication and advertising. This line is obviously just tossing the collectors a bone, because the expectations from Mattel seems incredibly low. COME ON!!!!!
And I still do't understand the secrecy surrounding the Batman cowl. Looks like we'll probably not see it till wave 2 is officially released.
For a company as big as Mattel, they sure don't act professional

I agree with Fuzzynail here. For this to be a TRU exclusive, they have been woefully understocked with product. My guess is they did not anticipate this kind of response. Hopefully they will be able to adjust production and meet the demand that is clearly out there.Leave a comment:

judging from advance order lists, there will be some 1st wave figures mixed in with the 2nd wave assortment. The heavies will still go into rotation, but I think the light sellers may disappear for good.
I would look at modern lines that dig into the retro world to try to guess what Mattel's repack story is. Does Matty reissue some of the more popular MOTU figures? Do they do repaints and put them on another card like Hasbro does with the SW line?Leave a comment:

THey must have stopped making them allready, cause I haven't seen one in Colorado since the first shipment....They should continue to make them even when wave two eventually hits....whenever they decide to put out wave two.

Sorry for the little rant guys. I really want to see the new figures. I gave a Superman to my buddies 4 year old son, and he asks me everyday when Batman is comming out so he can play with the pair, and I have to keep telling him, I dont Know. Kids really like these...they have much more payability than the statues that they have been handed over the years......and the size is easier for kids to play with than the more common 12" figures.Leave a comment:

I'd like to hope that they start offering assortments. incorporate some of those early figures into later waves.Leave a comment:

Just curious how long Mattel will make this current line or if there is a definitive end date when they start making Wave 2 figures instead?Tags: None
