NOPE they don't even have cartoons.

This isn't addressed to Paul, but to everyone....Why do you think Toy Companies dont advertise any more? I mean besides the obvious...expensive...THere were commercials, and adds everywhere when I was a kid....adds in Comics, catalogs, now nuthin....the only time I see anything at all its in the Sunday paper and thats not the Toy company advertising its the store...like Target, or Walmart.....Kids have nuthin to get excited about........
Damned right! no more cartoons on Saturday mornings (the few there do not count, I am referring to the days pre vcr when you had to carefully plan, hmmmm tarzan is on the same time as Pac-man, but channel x has apes) and oh those commercials!! now there are no after school cartoons on free tv, and no prizes in cereals ***!!!!!

    Toy commercials

Toy commercials are still strong but not so much for action figures except for Spidey and Batman. Other than Hotwheels involving race tracks most commercials both serve as advertisements for cartoons and building product identity. We still have the Barbie and doll commerials. Create a stop motion or CGI derivitive and you might have a reason to make EMCE DC retro action commercials. I still remeber the old Mego commercials but Superfriends was airing at the same time. I would love to see a commercial for DC Retro - Action.

That hint of purple will make all the difference.

Only Batman is tough enough to handle a Magenta card backer.

Either way, we now know that Batman is cursed.

I only see ads for Ben 10 and girls toys. I did see a Brave and the Bold Plastic Man ad the other day.

Back on topic, will these reach Canada Toys R Us? I always feel like Canada gets a kick to the groin from Mattel instead of new toys.

The days of toy commercials everyday of the year are over. I think when the 90's began the toy commercials pretty much ended. However, toy commercials do air during the holidays. I don't think that will ever change!!!

Well, somehow I missed a thread about the different color cards for each wave. Very cool.

I've got two nieces and I've seen one Star Wars Hasbro commercial in the last two years. Maybe toy television advertising is out there like it used to be and I'm missing it, but I'm actually surprised when and if I do see it.

And I still do't understand the secrecy surrounding the Batman cowl. Looks like we'll probably not see it till wave 2 is officially released.
For a company as big as Mattel, they sure don't act professional
look at the last few issues of toyfare- toy mags giving TONS of press on these, and the entire 8 inch revival. and GL is advertised in the back cover.

I think TRU in general is lazy in the promotions dept.
