Is it set in stone that these are actually in (or will see) production? Has Diamond actually ordered them? I ask, cuz as I noted in another thread, Rick @ Newforce recently said that DST can't get enuff orders from their accounts to justify production. I just don't know if that was in reference to DST's standard Trek line, or if it also included their EMCE offerings.

If that's the case, then why am I always e-mailing back and forth with DST?

I will discuss details when the powers that be say I am allowed to.
Until then, forgive me if I don't comment.

I was going to ask who Rick was and encourage posting rumors from Doc, lol.

Doc would know best. Thanks for posting Doc! God bless you and everything you touch!

Rick is a forum member and owns NewForce Comics, which has been the largest independent online dealer of Star Trek toys for the past 10+ years.

Rick's comment was simply that the age of the Trek figure was (almost) at end, since DST was having difficulty getting enuff orders from their accounts to justify production. As I said, I don't know if this extends to the EMCE line, or if it's in reference to DST's standard line of Trek figures.

            Time will tell.

I'll have to keep that site handy. I see he has a placeholder for Mego Trek? Ask him what he knows about the Emce line. That is my only interest.

Well, and the Playmates or Diamond Phaser/Comm/LifeSize Tricorder (finally!).
              :D

              Thanks!

I think thats is for the regular diamond lines, I have said it once and will say it again, more CHARACTERS= more sales, I really do not need another Kirk, or Spock. If you go to Toys R Us and look at the overstuffed pegs, they have mirror mirror, any movie variant, original, and more..ALL KIRK AND SPOCK! Variety is the spice of life, but PIZZA IS PIZZA no matter how many toppings you offer! The EMCEE line is awesome, because you get a super variety of figures! PLEASE DOC!!! PLEEEEEASE MUDD AND TRELANE!!!! these were no brainers for mego, and had way more play value than say Keeper, or Cheron, I need these in the next wave, NEED them. they would pair well with some crew members, say Rand, and Mudd, and Trelane with Lesllie? wondering as well If Toys R Us would shy away from an offer to carry these due to the overall poor sales of the license? If they would take them on, a nice 6 figure assortment of new figures and old favorites (The crew@ 2 per case and the rest new). It's a tough cookie, but the pitch would be "RETRO ACTION" and point out how hot the DC retros are selling due to the style. One can only hope. Kids playing with Star Trek again? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

In regard to the regular DST line, Rick just mentioned this DST set looks to be a go:

                  http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...76&mode=retail

And that Series 5 has been cancelled, but will supposedly be re-solicited sometime. So hope does remain for the line....

I guess now I see why Diamond Select has no release date on their Art Asylum style Salt Creature which I was very much looking forward to (along with their Stargate Ba'al and General Hammond figures that also seem to be on indefinite hold).

Now that the EMCE/MEGO version of the Salt Creature is coming out, I'll be more than happy with that!!!!

If the Gorn couldnt get new hands why does the Salt Creature?

Those new hands look too modern for me. I would be satisfied with Neptunian gloves on the Gorn. It would have been in Mego campy style.

I think It would be awesome Doc if you do make more Kirks and such because those will sell. You'll get more sales for Casual Kirk than you would Lt Obsura Just make those shirts available in the Doc Shop! Budget for my hobby!

If you can make the Mugato ( Mine is being "Flocked " at GI Joe hair club) you can make the three remaining aliens. Yes I mean original Gorn. or at least offer a roto cast Brown lizard head. Since its just a crocodile head and was used twice Will Marvel LET you?

Neptunian. come on unique boots and gloves and a seriously funky one of a kind head sculpt!

I understand the body issue with Talos. But That makes Neptunian a no brainer.

I think that's where the problem lies; the original head was the licensed Lizard head re-done in brown. Things have changed since then, and companies like Marvel are much more agressive in protecting their properties. I don't think the Doc or Diamond would want to push the envelope there just for one figure.

Honest I can find a Gorn head. Wow something to make them actually go UP in value!
I really want that Talos. Its a charater from the show!

Neptunian? Well I love Megos, and I love the very original head it has. but ehhhh

Talo? Come on he was an original figure AND on the show. So they put him in a clown suit! Makes him more unique!

I really think part of the charm of the Trek Aliens was the, to put it kindly, artistic license they took. I mean, ya gotta love a Disco Mugato, right?
