Keep in mind, when I was a kid, I didn't use the ST Aliens with the Trek figures; they were a group of aliens who regularly fought against my Justice League, with the Mugato being from a heavy gravity planet with a red sun who was a match for Superman. For that, his mod clothes were perfect.

I do. Yes. I too have known the cloying, furry embrace of Disco Mugato love (I was a younger man, and in college, and in need of the money).
