I wonder should I hold out on the Justice League Shazam and wait for the future release. I was planning on replacing the head with retro one and the body with a the Type S.

I know. Why buy the tweaked JLA figures when FTC is updating Batman (Wave 4), Shazam, and you know FTC will update Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and even Green Arrow, too!

This JLA Shazam costume is one of my favorites. Aside from the size of the lightening bolt, the cuffs, cape, and yellow Conan boots work great. The big red cheese, never looked better.
Now with the correct size lightening bolt and the right head..."Capt. Shazam"!

Yeah, it makes for a tough dilemma.

I am already kicking myself for buying/pre-ordering the Kresege Card Dr. Sivana (and Series 3 is supposed to have Mary Marvel, IIRC).

But I am also kicking myself for not buying the Early Bird Commissioner Gordon.

              Ugh!

I may still get the JLA Captain Marvel though. I like the costume change and we know the Marvel Family head sculpt will be different.

JLA Shazam is BEST of 6 JLA figures, the most improved- CUFF boots, white cape w/ yellow trim, separated arm bands, and bigger thunderbolt emblem!

But Shazam Series 1 Shazam will have NEW head hopefully CC Beck cartoony style- squinty eyes, smile, dimples, cleft in chin, more pronounced black pointed hairline! Don't see how costume can be improved much from JLA Shazam maybe make thunderbolt a little smaller?

We've seen Sivana! Wish he had teeth overbite and black pants! I thought Shazam characters would be spread over Kresge waves and there would not be a special Shazam wave!

I want to see MARY! I HOPE she looks like card art- pageboy hairdo, lowcut blouse, short skirt, and slippers! Just like she looked on 1981 Filmation Shazam cartoon when I fell in love with her when I was 11 year old boy! And she needs same body as Super Gals NOT teen!

Captain Marvel Jr needs RED cape NOT white! Teen body!

                Series 2 WISHLIST

                Shazam the Wizard himself!
                Black Adam
                Uncle Dudley in Shazam costume!
                Mr Tawky Tawny the tiger!

Teen Billy Batson as FTC exclusive

Mr Mind's Monster Society of evil! Ibaac, King Kull, Mr Atom, Aunt Minerva, Herkimer the alligator, the owl guy and gorilla guy their names escape me! Holey Moley!

It depends on how the Heads look because if the new Shazam has a Big head, than I would rather have the updated JLA version.

I'd love to see them do Mr Tawky Tawny as well. But that and the mentions of the Filmation Shazam cartoon really makes me want them to break into Filmation and do Flash Gordon! Tawney could get a bigger main and be Lion Man!

The more I dig, the more varied Tawky looks over the ages. He goes from being a very cartoony looking character, to a stuffed toy, to a very tiger looking character, to a human shaped man with a tiger head. I'm not sure how FTC would do him. I'd actually prefer the realistic tiger headed man in a suit, especially if they gave him paws and remade the cowardly lion shoes. The green tweed sports coat seems to be somewhat consistent.

Yes, the 1974 Filmation Shazam live-action TV show on Saturday morning when I was 4 year old boy starting pre-school made me a Shazam fan for life!

"Oh, Elders strong and fleet and wise appear before my seeking eyes!" Even though they were cardboard cutouts whose lips only moved! That's Filmation "animation" for you!

How did Filmation get rights to Shazam, Warner owned DC by then!

I want FTC 7" Michael Gray Billy Batson, Jackson Bostwick Captain Marvel (maybe w/ extra John Davey head!) and Les Treymane (sp?) Mentor! Dream of dreams would be a Joanna Cameron ISIS!

Now that FTC is doing Mego VANS how about the MOBILE HOME Billy and Mentor travelled in with the dome of lights on dashboard to contact elders! And include foldout cardboard cutouts of 6 Elders as BONUS figure!

Hanna Barbara was originally going to include Captain Marvel and Dr Sivana on Challenge of the Super Friends Legion of Doom episodes in 1978 but Filmation still had option to do its own Shazam cartoon which it did in 1981 which was MARVELOUS btw on Kid Super Power Hour Saturday morning including Hero High which was originally to be Archie Comics characters as superheroes and would have been better!

Hanna Barbara did include Captain Marvel and Sivana on its live-action 1978 Legends of the Super Heroes special with Adam West and Burt Ward on YouTube! Guess Filmation live-action Shazam rights had expired by then! Pretty funny stuff!

Couldn't have Shazam characters appeared on Hanna Barbara 1984-1986 SUPER POWERS cartoons? There was a Kenner Super Powers Shazam action figure!

                            What could have been...

Yeah I pointed to Mego 8" Shazam figure in blue window box to my Mom as we entered TG&Y and said "there's Shazam I watch on Saturday morning!" She bought him for me and I still love that version like FTC has brought back today and JLA and Shazam Family wave! Later got Mego Isis for my little sister! *In 1989 when I was 19 and officially started collecting action figures and got back into Mego I traded for a Mego Isis MOC perfect shape for only $45! Then opened bubble with knife and traded her off again! ARGH! Now MOC Isis is like $450!

The 1940s Captain Marvel serial ROCKS! I had it on VHS! Art on box recolored Cap's costume to make it look like Superman's or Captain Marvel Jr's you could say! Misleading advertising!

Is the serial and Isis TV series on DVD?
