Very curious to know if they will have a new head sculpt for Mary or recycle the Jane/Supergirl/Wonderwoman noggins?

I hope they don't use the wonder woman head. Especially if they remake another Isis action figure later on. That head is too baby dollish for a woman who's suppose to be in their early twenties.

Agreed. Mary Marvel needs NEW head! But look at Lois Lane she looks like other Super Gals!

Shazam (Captain Marvel) is getting NEW head and so is Batman in his Wave 4!

FTC needs to update remaining original Mego 8" DC figures with NEW heads and updated costumes not just tweaks like FTC JLA figures!

Wonder Woman especially needs an overhaul! NO cloth bodysuit! Separate bathing suit, tiara, bracelets, boots, lasso, and mature face!

Supergirl- I like 1984 Helen Slater costume best! Longer straighter hair mature face!

Batgirl- NEW removeable cowl where mask is not sculpted on face! Black bodysuit, red purse w/ black bat emblem! Painted hands! Mature face!

Catwoman- Classic Purple removeable cowl, purple dress, green cape, black boots, whip, mischief face!

        *ALL FEMALES ROOTED hair!

Joker- Brian Bolland Killing Joke (even though I HATE what happened to Barbara Gordon in that story!)

Those are main ones- Superman, Robin, Riddler, Penguin, Aquaman, and even Green Arrow need adjustments!

There is really no reason forthcoming Gals cannot utilize the IG head. I'd bet money I don't have that Poison Ivy will use it.

And repainting these varied sculpts (Supergals, TT Wondergirl, Invisible Girl, even Daisy Dule) plus adding various rooted hair styles can yield many, many variants. Repaints can look great--compare vintage WW to Isis.

Personally, I'd like Mary to be on an 8" body, and use either a TT-WG or Gals head. This would match her well with Supergirl. I don't advocate the TT-WG body for anything really, it's awful.

That said, Mary is Billy's twin sister and about 12-14 years old. I never thought she aged when turning into Mary Marvel---so a teen version could look good next to Billy & Cap, Jr.

I agree, but to me since they are referencing the late 70's early 80's ( by the promo artwork seen thus far)
then I'd say that Mary is actually 16-18 ( as she was in All New Collector's Edition C-58 Superman vs. Shazam).

THAT's the Mary Marvel I'd buy!

^ I have that in reprint--I'd agree that she's on par with Supergirl there.

YES! I have the actual 1978 Superman vs Shazam Treasury Edition! Art by Rich Buckler! Mary Marvel never looked so good! Mary and Supergirl were BABES in that story!

Mary is Billy's TWIN sister but I thought she stayed same age when she became Mary Marvel. Mary looks in her LATE teens in this story and Billy his EARLY teens at the most!

Anyway Mary Marvel was my 3rd DC superheroine crush as a boy! Wonder Woman 1st (still is!) and Babs Batgirl 2nd!

I'm just glad we're finally getting a Mego Mary Marvel and she should be 8" NEW head and just like 70s/80s card art THAT costume!

BTW I never noticed Supergirl as a boy. I like her 70s Mego costume best. I thought it was inspired by Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders BLUE V-neck blouse PUFFY sleeves, SHORT shorts, and boots!

I always thought it was corny Superman having a COUSIN who also survived Krypton! Superman should be SOLE survivor! Give Supergirl different origin- from Earth maybe Superman's #1 fan?

YES! That would be SO cool. (since this is the only Shazam I like).

How did Filmation get rights to Shazam, Warner owned DC by then!

I want FTC 7" Michael Gray Billy Batson, Jackson Bostwick Captain Marvel (maybe w/ extra John Davey head!) and Les Treymane (sp?) Mentor! Dream of dreams would be a Joanna Cameron ISIS!

Now that FTC is doing Mego VANS how about the MOBILE HOME Billy and Mentor travelled in with the dome of lights on dashboard to contact elders! And include foldout cardboard cutouts of 6 Elders as BONUS figure!

                        What could have been...
I have heard that the rights DC got for the Big Red Cheese and the other Fawcett characters had some problems in the 70's and 80's; apparently, from his debut in the early 70's under the DC banner until about 1991, he was licensed by, but not yet owned by, DC (they outright own the characters now, from 1991 on). The history of the Big Red Cheese is complex where DC is concerned, namely because DC sued Fawcett and pretty much put them out of business over Captain Marvel, claiming he was a rip-off of Supes (prompted, I would guess, by the fact that some of the Marvel Family books were actually outselling the Big Red "S" at the time).

As far as a new version, I can see pretty much the JLA costume with a new head. While an accurate version of the original squinty Cap would be cool, he wouldn't really go with anybody else, including the figures in his own wave. I think something similar to what Mattel did with the DC classics 6" Shazam would be the best way to go; it still had all the main features of the C.C. Beck Cap, but done in a more realistic fashion.

I know that many here don't agree with me, but I'm a die-hard Marvel Family fan and I've always loved Mego's Captain Marvel sculpt. I think they did a great job taking a fairly stylized character and making him look like a real person. All the proper elements are there: Wavy hair, jawline, dimples, pug nose, even thicker brows. It's much more expressive than most of Wave One.

I thought Mego Shazam looked like John Davey rather than Jackson Bostwick! Especially not Fred MacMurray!

I totally agree: a more realistic sculpt that has all of the main features of the CC Beck Cap. The 13" Captain Marvel figure, in my opinion, has a very nice head sculpt that pays homage to the CC Beck Cap. (I want an Alex Ross Captain Marvel from Kingdom Come.)

DC Direct 13" Shazam is my favorite version yet! Beautiful! And he came w/ Mr Mind worm in scale! I wish DC Direct had at least made 13" Mary Marvel to go w/ him! Those were like $70 each! Sideshow 12" Green Lantern latest DC figure is $220! NO WAY!
