Finally ordered both series 1 and 2 and got them in tonight. I've been out of toy collecting for a while now, but these things just sucked me back in.
I'm really super impressed. It's obvious there was a lot of care put into this - and frankly this effort SHAMES Mattel in so many aspects. I would put this up there with the EMCE Trek line in the level of care and detail - and even those had some minor issues that happen when you mass-produce.
They aren't perfect. But little details like shipping the blisters with the nice Figures Toy ziptie so the clamshell opens cleanly... the thickness of the cardback even though it's not a structural part of the packaging... shipping with a plastic wrap over the bubbles to prevent scratching are all really nice.
There are minor nits to be sure. Batman's belt. Penguin is too tall. Hero heads a tad too narrow (which is surprising since their older heads were much closer). Of course the rubber bands are tight. But unlike other efforts in this space I don't feel the need to re-engineer the package or the figure itself to make it presentable.
I wish they would spend a bit more time on the packaging. There is sloppiness to the font choices and layout that feel amateurish. I actually offered them all the layer files I complied for my cardbacks but they declined. I wish they would get slightly better designers.
Most importantly - opening that box gave me a rush I haven't felt since I was a kid. They nailed the overall aesthetic.
I hope this line does very well for them. They deserve it. This doesn't feel like a cash play it seems like they care.

At first, I was all, What do you mean "Cheapo"? Then I realized I had promised 'cookies' and only offered Meth.
Please understand, I spent a lot of time extracting this recipe from the TV show. It was an 'uphill battle' all the way! I had pages on amber liquid flowing through a clear tube, before I realized it was kemo therapy. Then they started changing labels! Then they started changing labels! In the end, I lucked out. While thumbing a ride to Albuquerque, I got a ride from Jesse Pinkman. I really shouldn't say anymore about this. In the end, I lucked out. I knew it! The Evil Side is also the Cheapo side!

 No cookies? UGH!

What's Heisenberg Blue anyway, and why would anyone want it?Leave a comment:

My bad. By '1/9th scale', I meant customizing. By 'dark side of the force', I meant evil. By 'cookies', I meant Heisenberg Blue.Leave a comment:

I collect Mego size and have most of the DC ones anyway, that is why I don't want them. I also have all the EMCE Monsters and the new Trek figures, Mattel's DC figures, and am now saving my Mego money for West and Ward.Leave a comment:

 That's probably not the case.

Customers have every right to express their opinions & ideas about a product they care about--particularly since this is a forum & FTC is not overtly interactive.

And those customers really have a right to complain--yes complain--about shoddy manufacturing, with FTC or anyone else.

Regarding dissatisfaction with details of the figures, I think they're pretty good, and good enough for me--& I'm picky!

But, if you don't like them--don't buy them, that's your "voting" power as a consumer.

And please, allow people to make that choice--why browbeat them here?Leave a comment:

I see what you just did there the old Chewbacca defense but you used a barber chair very well played :-)I'm not seeing anywhere near the amount of whining/complaining as I did back in '09.
Sure there is always someone telling us again and over again how we as 'the privileged customer' deserve better than this.
As a barber of three decades, I want to know why I can't buy a decent new barber chair? Why should I have to spend so much money and time finding an Old chair and having it restored? Answer: manufacturers see no profit in products that last hundreds of years. Today's barber chairs are so bad, they won't last but a couple/few years at best.
I have far more respect for companies that are trying to make a better product, than those who are trying to make them worse.Leave a comment:

I insist, those whining about these figures its really because they can't have them and are justifying themselves...Leave a comment:

Not afraid of any discussion about these I know there are good parts and bad parts its growing pains Those points do not bother me. But the whole lets alter the oven mitts. I think they need to improve head sculpts. I don't like the color of this or that. and the I would do.... comments kill me If you would have done something different that's great go buy the license and do it up. I for one think they are doing alright as far as the alter egos go sure they were done by Mego but the one thing that Mego did not do is put them on card so to me its something new. Oh and if you don't feel guilty then I was more then likely not even talking about you :-)Leave a comment:

I think its because no one wants what happened to the retro actions to happen again.

Those new rubberband-less bodies are an example of a solution that will benefit everyone. I really hope those catch on.Leave a comment:
