---I can sincerely emphatically relate to that, but my empathy goes both ways, and when posters posed the question, my natural inclination was to answer it more from Funko's POV---- doesn't mean I support their decision.

      Really?

If what you're saying is true, and PULP FICTION and FIGHT CLUB were both failures in the context of the ReAction line releases, then the toy business/film& T.V. licencing business is an even greater challenge than I'd ever want to deal with as a businessman.

Now that you've mentioned this, I'm looking forward to hearing the machinations of how that result came about.

My guess is they want to jump on the Betty White bandwagon.

Agreed that the actresses White ("modern bandwagon" aspect included) and Arthur's presence go a long way in itself to turn heads.

No disrespect to McCalahan and Getty, but comparatively, the other two gals "out-icon" them by a good margin.

At this point what's stopping Disney from releasing the Star Wars Holiday Special and accompanying official figures (?) is what I'm curious about. Maybe Funko can license it from 'em!

So, "ironic Bea Arthur" in a toy form in the context of a Plaid Stallion ironic rack toy idea contest is a "Nope not at all". Okay.

                    That's surprising.

I guess I'm going to have to pay closer attention to what your long-running well-respected brand stands for. I know it SAYS "love" associated with toys and "mockery" only literally attached to fashion in your tag line... but, the contest you had has me second guessing. And citing the contest is the tip of an iceberg of what I thought was a hipster-like approach. Just using that as a recent, more black & white example.

Yeah, I know my audience better than you do and I'm currently spending my time creating something new for it. It's better time spent than playing the Contrariness Olympics on a forum all day. So I don't care, you can win.

Where is ReAction's market base actually located anyway? I'd guess 70% or more online, which would allow a license like Golden Girls to be sold on those sites that it is most suited to.
I base my estimate above on the fact that I just don't see ReAction out there that much. Walmart hasn't carried anything past Rocketeer, Alien, & a handful of Goonies. The Targets I've been to seem to have a batch of Little China & 5th Element pegwarmers. Of the 5 or 6 comic shops I regularly visit, only one carries them and those are mainly leftovers from BTTF & Pulp Fiction. I see a few at Barnes Noble, again the leftovers.
I can't be opposed to oddball choices as long as it keeps the company rolling. This just seems like a lot of why are they wasting time & resources on THIS when they could be making THAT?

Plus Betty White is cool. I want a Password variant.

Yes, I agree. If this will sell so that other wishlist lines can be made, then I'm all for it. But I hope it's not a gamble.

By the way, has everyone picked up BBP's Flash Gordon figures yet? Now THERE'S a line that needs support.

'Cause what I want to do is "win"? Not following you.

Actually, what I wanted was insight into something in the "toy/nostalgia/Brian empire" field that I was fortunate enough to have the "straight from horses mouth" (you posting right here) to answer.

You think you'd be complimented by my sincere interest in your brand. Instead, you lash out.

Contrarian? Whatever Brian. Mock my "time spent" just like you do other stuff (but apparently have a problem owning up to for some reason)---but I'm not going to be labelled just because you have some kind of beef that makes you dismissive towards most things I say. I won't assume I know why you act this way. I don't make those insultingly disrespectful leaps.

For the moment though, I'll go out on a limb here and actually make an assumption regarding your mindset.... that is: you say you "know your audience" but what strikes me is that I assume you don't seem to include me in that group---rather, I'm simply a contrarian---like, that's my reasoning for being a member here. So, I guess my assumption of your assumption (if correct)makes it so that you are ethically comfy now to chastise as you see fit with no regard towards how I've supported your projects over the years, projects including this Museum and it's forum.

Behind the scenes I was called far worse (in a particular instance) by you and your MM cronies (which I obviously won't go into here). But, the point is, many years have passed and I think it's obvious how offbase you (and others) were as well regarding my character. Just because I apparently come off as "abrasive" to many here, doesn't make me "a criminal"---or, for that matter, even a "deliberate troublemaker".

As I've often said, this is YOUR playground, and because of that (and the fact that I like this place---a LOT), I don't expect any special treatment when it comes to decisions around here. I don't even mind being criticized by those who feel I'm behaving badly. However, I also expect there to be no unwarranted assumptions posted about my motives just because a given person thinks I'm a "jerk". I don't think that's an unreasonable attitude to have.
