I'm excited for new Star Wars but I'm really most anxious to see the characters I grew up with. I'm happy that the Kenner style is back as the main line but I wish that meant that Kenner prices were back as well! I hope that 3 3/4" Vintage style with Super Articulation will return to some degree, but in all honesty I can see why that and BMF Millenium Falcon are no longer the focus. Those concepts could potentially kill the line if not in moderation. $13-$15 3 3/4" action figures just don't really seem to be that great a value anymore. $5-$6 are a better deal...and a Millenium Falcon that 6 year olds can pickup without fear of a back injury seems like a good idea!

Had I have been a resident of the U.S. my answer would be, no. I'm still a massive fan of the original trilogy and wouldn't even think about parting with anything that I've managed to collect, but as far as anything else goes.... Star Wars has had its day for me. Can't say that I'm looking forward to Episode 7. I'll go to see it, but it will just be the case of 'OK, I've seen it'.

It falls on my birthday so at some point on Friday I'll hit the local stores to see what's what. Some of the figures look good. I kind of like the idea of buying new SW figures on my birthday. Plus, I've been collecting Star Wars figures since 1978 so at this point I think I'm legally obligated to buy some for this movie as well.

I ended up selling off everything I ever bought at the several midnight madnesses I attended. They were good times, but my collecting focus always changes.

I did the midnight deal for Phantom Menace at TRU. I was actually they first person inside but everyone started running and shoving and screaming so I stepped to the sie a bit to let the yahoos do their thing. I was only there for the 12" figures so I spotted them, grabbed them and checked out while the line was still pouring in and scavengers were tearing through bins like World War Z.

I've never had a problem with spoilers. I think the trailers look great. I'm loving the Kenner vibe of the toys. There hasn't been such a genuine positive excitement for SW since I was a child. This is probably the last big hurrah for SW ( at least the classic trilogy characters) in my lifetime. So I am darn well going to enjoy it.
I am sincerely, truly happy for everyone who is excited. I don't wish to be a debbie downer. It's just for me, the connection to nostalgia is what fuels my desire to own merchandise. I know if I took the plunge, there'd be no stopping me, and I'd have piles and piles of toys that I don't truly love, that I can't display. (Besides, I've got a WGSH collection I need to build!)

So, please, don't let me ruing your vibe. Have fun!!!! I think it'll be great. But I want to see as little as possible until the I get to see the film.

I may go in Friday just to see what they have. The only thing from star wars I collect is the 12 inch figures. If there are any out on the shelves I might be tempted.

We don't have Target stores at all.
And we don't get much SW merchandise here anyway.
Seems like they never forgot the whole Phantom Menace disaster, when they were left with tons of unwanted figures.
On top of that, it's $18 for a small figure, so I'm not even getting started collecting again...

I just want a couple of decent 1/6 scale figures to celebrate "New Star Wars", and that's it.

I should be, but I'm not.

    I don't like spoilers.

I don't have the space for more.

I don't know if I'll like the movie.

I don't groove on modern toys.

I was at Walmart yesterday and my daughter found a hot wheels of the new Milenium Falcon design of the new movie, so we put it in our cart. At check out the scan came up with a warning that the item could not be sold to the customer, so we had to leave it with the cashier. Glad my daughter is twelve and can handle such things. The "why was it on the shelf then?" complaint from me was not all that strong, but I found it a bit silly that they couldn't sell me a toy for my child because of a prescribed debut date for the toy.

Have no interest in SW merchandise, but I am wondering if anything else will be discounted to take advantage of the extra flow of people?
