^^^ Without this thread I never would have heard of Quintin Quire. I still don't care about him, but now I know. -
^Geez...why do you have to keep getting the last jab in? Just let it GO already. I'm sorry I even started this thread.Leave a comment:

I accept that you see things differently. But facts are facts.Leave a comment:

What???? you go on and do what you like It's no point in discussing this any more for me you don't want to accept that people see these things differently to you so I'll end my part in this now I have better thing to do.Leave a comment:

But the evidence doesn't bear that out either. We have plenty of flash in the pan characters. In both lines.
And the characters I want ARE established. Quentin Quire is older than Fantomex. Who, I remind you, has a figure.
As does Hope Summers.
And Toy Biz went out of business. Hasbro makes ML now, and it's thriving. It is much better now than it ever was under Toy Biz. I have a Daredevil that doesn't have ridiculous linebacker shoulders. But Toy Biz did new characters too. Not as many as Hasbro, but enough that your argument that 'Legends implies characters who have established themselves' is moot. They did a boxed set of the Young Avengers before they had been a thing for a full year.
I saw Cyclops' moronic new costume hanging on pegs at TRU on Monday. It'll probably be there a while, but the box still said 'Legends' and I don't have a problem with that.
So I'm not sure what you're really arguing for or against here, unless you're suggesting that Hasbro create a separate line for newer characters, because you think 'Legends' means something that it doesn't, and NEVER did.
If you ARE suggesting that, it's not a good idea. Why waste time and money to create something separate that does exactly the same thing as something that works?
I've played that game before, it's the same garbage MOTU fans spewed with their 'classics' line. Divide and conquer. If it's all one line you might have to buy a couple for a BAF, but if they're separate you can ignore them and maybe they'll go away.
If that's the case, then be honest and admit it, but don't hide behind falsehoods and misinformation when the truth is as plain as the nose on your face.Last edited by Toy Timelord; Sep 17, '14, 6:57 PM.Leave a comment:

no my point of view is that when you see classics or legends in the name of a line you don't expect to see any flyby night recont of a character out there or any relatively new character that comes along, you expect to see characters that have established themselves over a few years, you call a line unlimited or universe and then all goes, as I said in my first post, you just want the characters you like made, and for a long rime under toybiz very few newer characters were made the new costume maybe but not new charactersLeave a comment:

After reading all of this the only thing I can say is that the best thing we can all do is to agree to disagree.Leave a comment:

Absolutely not. Evidence fits my point of view, you'd need to change your point of view to fit the evidence.
Fact: Marvel Legends and DCUC both feature classic and contemporary characters. <-- My POV
Fiction: ML and DCUC should only feature Classics <-- Your POV
It's not even a matter of having it my way, it's a matter of provable, verifiable, quantifiable, indisputable, fact!Leave a comment:

wow you do like to have everything your way or no way don't you, maybe it's you that's shoehorning thinks to fit your view?Leave a comment:

Tom Petty's Greatest Hits album featured a brand new song. Granted, that song DID become a Classic (Mary Jane's Last Dance), but was brand new when the album dropped.
So no, Classic doesn't mean old. Especially as it applies to toylines. Never has, never will. Wishful thinking by fans trying to shoehorn their personal bias onto something that has demonstrated consistently, precisely the opposite.Last edited by Toy Timelord; Sep 16, '14, 1:22 AM.Leave a comment:

I would disagree with that the first few waves of both featured the older versions of the characters and I would say classics definitely implied older versions of characters, you buy a record with the word classic in the title you wouldn't expect to have a modern track on it, personally I like some modern designs some I prefer classic, I love the A-Bomb character but am so so on the bucky cap on the Steve Rogers outfit from the same eraLeave a comment:

And I would counter with: When did they ever say that name meant only old characters? They were doing modern versions all throughout the line. Both lines. The word 'classics' doesn't mean 'vintage only' it means 'iconic'.Leave a comment:

Not wishing to stir up issues here but I think that if a line is labelled as Marvel Legends or DC Universe Classics, then I would say you expect to have it to be made up of figures that have a legendary of Iconic status, or to have the classic version of that character not a modern one, but when you have a line called Marvel Universe of Infinites or DC Unlimyed then I would say any character moder or classic can be expectedLeave a comment:

He's shown up in both recent Avengers cartoons, so he has some kiddy recognition.Leave a comment:
