My mother-in-law took my kids to Wal-Mart today, and my son picked up two sets of regular Superman and Zod for the both of us. Not sure I would have bit on my own, but I'm not sorry to get them. The level of detail isn't what Hasbro gives us in this scale, but they are definitely nicer than the DKR figures from last year. I like the packaging quite a bit. It's pretty sharp

As a guy who loves the Mego Pocket Super Heroes, it's cool to get a Superman and Zod in this scale again.

I still wish we could've gotten a 6" Movie Master of Routh's Superman.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

^There were some 6" Superman Returns figures, but they all featured some kind of electronic gimmick. My son has the heat vision figure, which is probably as close to "normal" as they made, as I recall.

Now there's a sign saying "Coming May 1" by all the empty pegs at Wal-mart.

I remember those. But what makes a MM is scale, sculpt and posability. You need all three. Those figures had sculpt (certainly no worse than any other Superman Returns toy, at any rate) and scale, but I have been putting together a movie verse on my shelf since the DK movie Masters came out. And compatibility is a must.

I went to 2 Walmarts over the weekend. One had nothing, not even empty pegs. Yhe other had the figures already posted. Nothing like being consistant. I can honestly say nothing I've seen so far is making me pull out the ole wallet.

I bought the Movie Masters of Zod and Superman.

I am a sucker for the 6" scale.

No Movie Masters in our neck of the woods yet, but I did see those Slingshot thingees. Oh, and Lego sets.

Zod and Superman share 90% of the sculpt. The major differences being the chest symbol and the head. Superman also, naturally has the cape.

Normally I would be opposed to reuse especially at this price, but they still feel different, and I feel that while it is a cost cutting measure, it appears accurate to the stills I have seen of the suits, and it is not unprecedented.

Still no carded figures, but I did see a couple little armored suit boxed sets with figures, a larger vehicle with a figure, a cheap looking chest protector with a red cape attached, and a talking stuffed Superman. Everything looked really chintzy to me. Hope the figures aren't too bad. I'll probably end up with at least the Movie Master Superman, but the other stuff hasn't impressed so far. The 3-3/4" figures that came with the armored suits looked like Happy Meal toys; I might pick up one of the vanilla Superman figures, but I'll probably wait for the inevitable clearance.

Believe me, the MOS stuff looks TONS better than 90% of the DKR stuff Mattel put out last year. That stuff is just ugly.

I only buy the Movie Masters, anymore. Missed a bunch of the GL ones, and I still want a Ra's but I have most of the ones I want.

If I had to pick a favorite, though, I would say Rot Lop Fan, followed by Sinestro, and Two Face.
