New Mattel DC Unlimited: New 52 Aquaman, Darkseid and others

First I had seen or heard of these. Is it just me, or do these NOT look like the work of the Four Horsemen? Maybe they are, but they don't seem to have that DCUC feel.

Aquaman looks a bit pin-headed here, but maybe they'll fix that.

I have to say, the Injustice video game designs are pretty ugly. Makes me appreciate the new 52 redesigns...

My great grandmother started to lose it in her later years, and she would paint anything and everything around her house pastel blue or pink. The yard frog, her watering can, the mailbox.......it was both comical and sad. Darkseid reminds me of her.

^Yeah, someone needs to teach these modern artists the art of subtlety. Jack Kirby's design was perfect...why muck with it? Lots of red and blue doesn't do anything but make Darkseid look like a Despot Fashionplate.

As much as I'm a DC fan and love the characters it's amazing how many DC lines I DON'T have. This will be another one.

The Only DC Unlimited figure I own thus far is Superboy Prime .... , He's in my Pile of Loot at BBTS.
I woulda Bought Larfleeze, but they Switched him out for some of this crap. I've Considered Red Robin ...., But the Want does not out weigh the Need. I only Have Elasti-Girl from the Subscription too .... I am interested in GL Flash, Atrocitus, and Red Rocket ...., but again the same thought seems to apply.
Mattel really Killed the Allure for the Line ...., and not just the New 52 Toys.

I am sure once Lead, Platnuim and Tin go up ....., It will suck me in for sure.

I have the GA Flash, Starman and Elastic Girl since the line went subscription. I would have bought others like Mirror Master for example but didn't even know he was out and is now sold-out. I will be on the lookout for the rest of the Metal Men though.

I want to get GA Flash, Elastic Girl, Metron, Larfleeze and the rest of the Metal Men. I was actually surprised (and glad) to see this last All Star wave in the store.

First I've seen of this Darkseid, man is he horrid. Hopefully his reputation as a line killer will continue and put these uglies out of their misery.

Good God, those are some ugly arse figures!!!! Methinks whomever is doing the sculpts either: A] knows absolutely NOTHING about proportions or B] was told by some bigwig higher up to "exaggerate" the proportions to make the figures more distinctive. If A is the case, fire them and someone new and if B is the case, then the higher-up got his wish; these are distinctively UGLY!!!!

Not a fan of the paint schemes or sculpts. I don't see these going over well. The classics work for a REASON... they're classics.

I'm actually thoroughly enjoying the DC Unlimited and Batman Unlimited lines thus far. The New 52 characters look excellent IMO, and in most cases have been improvements sculpt-wise over their DCUC predecessors. This wave, however (I'm assuming we're seeing unofficial pics of protos), really misses the mark set by the first few waves hitting now. I'm not familiar with Injustice, but this Superman's head looks tiny, as does Aquaman's, whose figure could use a bit more updating to set him apart from DCUC Aquaman. And Darkseid...I thought it was the shoulder pads at first, but now I think the rest of him just needs to grow into those. Hopefully the next/official shots of this wave will look much better.
