yeah, but if the first deal lights up in secondary value (in the short term) like the Aliens line, or some of the hero stuff Hot Toys has done, you can cash in for more figures somewhere down the line. -
yea it's one of the better deals they have and I've been thinking about picking it up...I just think the first one is a great deal to sucker you in the next oneOn a note from a different property. Hot Toys/ Sideshow first collaboration of Bespin Luke is pretty crazy. According to the pre order page on SS, you get not one figure, but two. Both a clean and a battle damaged Luke are included in the deal; and these are full figures, not costume and head changes. It (they?) also come with a weathervane prop for display and a stand made to look like a square of the Bespin floor grating. All for the low low price of $300.
wow - even at that price; with the crazy values that HT items are shooting up to, I am tempted to pick this up.
edit: I forgot to mention the added tidbit of the Luke/Vader head from the tree sequence in ESB for the exclusive version. yowza

Those are also the fancy new heads with the eagle eye thing. PERL, they call it.
I'd give the weather vane diorama and light up stand $50 for the cost, which makes the figures more like $125 each. Still pricey, but below average in the 1/6 world of today. I think three digits for a figure is a bit much, but in a world where SS is charging $100 for one of the cantina band members it is what it is.
I still recall the sticker shock from the electronic Vader Hasbro did.Leave a comment:

They sure went all-out on that weather-vane.
I can honestly say that this is the best action figure weather-vane I've seen so far!
The tailoring on the costume is very well done, I must say. And a good head sculpt. I like non-beat up Luke best. Maybe Ebay will get me the head alone, and I can customize!Leave a comment:

Still, it's $150 for a simple figure in brown fatigues. Maybe I'm getting old, but it still seems like so much money...Leave a comment:

Good Oldman sculpt, but I'd prefer him in civilian clothes.
Which I'm sure will happen a little later down the line.Leave a comment:

My wife is probably right, HT will release a normal trench coat/suit Gordon later. I can't imagine they'd get Oldman's likeness for a one-off convention piece. At least I hope not!!!
